Yea that's what I'm trying to say you can't realy only on calling the receiver and Google map can be deceiving cause you can't see telephone poles or those 4 foot ditches they got on the side of the road
I'm lucky enough to work with a group of people that's been to most places that I can call 24/7 I'm just wanting to know how you guys figure stuff out or your thought process in making a decision on which way to go guess I could of been more clear in the beginning

Call customer... theres a lot of jobsites like that. Down some frickin goat trails.... Best thing i do is before i turn into somewhere i think about how can i get out .. If there is no way out other than to back up then im not going .. Unless its a jobsite and they can block traffic... some other places u just got to be careful and take it slow if its muddy or crappy road...

You were clear, and they clearly answered you. Nothing is 100% effective. This is trucking sometimes you have to make adjustments on the spot

And the girl that answers the phone is clueless. You even ask her if she drives to work everyday. Yet she cant tell you how to get there.

Spent a couple years delivering to dairies in the western US that were quite literally in the middle of nowhere. Not once could my GPS not find the address and a safe route on any of them. We're talking 30 miles off the main road on nothing but dirt roads, which is a lot of fun in the winter.

Rand McNally TND730. They just came out with the 750 model. I may have to give it a try.

I go to lots of places here in the southeast and the easiest thing to do in todays age is still to call the place you're going to. Be it a home address or a business. Explain the situation and the size of your truck, lots of these folks claim 'big trucks' come here all the time and they're thinking box trucks and straight trucks, etc. Second to that, I use the maps app on my iphone and do the satellite view. Zoom in and will practice you'll be able to plan an out before you go there.

In the days before cell phones, google, GPS, & internet, we had an atlas and a device called a CB. It worked well. Short of that, we would get close and stop at a diner. Usually someone there could tell you what you needed to know, along with some fresh coffee and thermos refill. Short of that, go to the payphone and call the consignee....
