I was called out to work on a truck that had an older man wife team in it. The male was a grumpy sort of guy, I didn't talk to the female.
I ask if they didn't make pretty good money and he told me, the pay was good. I ask about getting along in such close quarters 24/7. LOL
He said they were argueing once and he went in t eat. when he ca,e out the truck was gone and he had to ride a bus from Az to pA. lol -

I know of it happening at least once. iirc it was in a prime truck.
This was several years ago, and talking to the couple while I repaired their truck, there was some issues with the trainer.
After joining this forum, I take a lot of those issues with a grain of salt though. -
I think Schneider has a program like that. Contact a recruiter and ask.

Covenant Transport may pay for private cdl school, then will train husband and wife together in the same truck.

We ran team with FFE and our work was essentially rescuing late loads from solos who are late. Run to get their load and get it delivered by deadline. The pay would have worked out to less than what it was by half to 2/3's what teams usually make a year. For us it was not really a problem.
We did our best work running the LA to Avenel NJ Route twice a week. And later with McKesson Medicine loads out of Memphis. She stopped shortly after due to medical issues pending in weight and we took care of that right quick.
In a few years time the Federal Position she had left to go trucking was itself replaced by computer today. So.. *Shrugs. We were happy we did it when we did it. -
I have a question... next year, my husband and I are planning on doing OTR. He has 30 years driving experience with trucks. I will be getting my CDL again (I had one for many years; I drive a school bus) soon. Most companies that I have inquired team drivers on will not hire me because I don't have 3 or more years of trucking experience. Is my best bet getting hired as a new driver at a local truck company?
