It ALWAYS astonishes me how anyone could stay with "Covennant" long enough to finish their training , making MAYBE $200 a week ? and thats a big maybe , obviously they dont have anyone depending on them back home for income:biggrin_25526:

    Too true, Willie.
Just keep in mind that if y'all drive that truck over a cliff,
the trailer WILL follow y'all --- right INTO that truck
    y'all are drivin'.
And THAT could ruin y'all's whole day.

BTW, Welcome to the forums, Willie.
Please keep us posted as to how your orientation goes.

Good luck & Best of success! :yes2557:

Great post Aftershock; RCW, when I started driving I was a 'Solar Powered' Steering Wheel holder too. After some 'Covenant Flavored Seasoning', I am happy to say that I can now comfortably drive day or night- as long as I have gotten a proper rest during the day.
And driving at night can de a real treat, because a lot of the CH19 A-Holes are solar powered, meaning you can carry on a decent conversation more often. So just keep reassuring RC that all will come, in due time. Patience is required, mostly on his part, because that change is the toughest one that there is. He will make it, I can already tell, because he DOES care about himself, and the job he does. And that attitude makes all the difference. You guys take care!

I would seriously find another copmany. My hubby had a bad experience with his first trainer, but sucked it up, and went back to a new trainer. He and his new trainer got along great! His trainer has even asked him to come back and team with him when his 90 days are up. They never had a problem getting a load. He had double the miles he was supposed to have by the end of his 30 days or more. He has been on his own for 4 weeks now and prefers the team thing so after his 90 days are up next month, he is going back with his trainer to team. If this compnay has no miles, change companies. After reading this, it makes me wonder how they expect people to make ends meet.

What? $200.00 a week. :biggrin_2554: Is'nt there a minimum wage requirement for these corporations to pay drivers. :biggrin_25526: This is another form of corporate corruption.

Anyone suffering this kind of abuse in trucking should write their congressman and Senator. I urge every driver to write your rep's when confronted with abuses. :biggrin_25517:

There is truth and justice. You most likely need a liberal minded defense type attorney who works for the poor and working and the Constitution!

    I understand!

I have seen the representatives respond to the citizens complaints about the Mexican Invasion over this last year, even though they did not want to. And they still try and get around stopping the invasion.

My point is that we must try as much as we can. As I understand it, via the postings on this site, most drivers spend their time complaining here more than complaining to the rep's. I just think it would be a good idea to register complaints with representatives. While writing on this site a person could just copy and paste in to there rep's email address.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you! He got out of CREngland about 3 weeks later, but that's a whole 'nother story. He is still trucking. And he loves it, and wouldn't have it any other way.

The attitude appears to come from all the adjustments they have to make to their own way of living. Mine took about 5 months to lose the crappy attitude.

I have to admit, I actually like him better now than I did before trucking. Before he started this career he was so laid back as to have people think he was spineless. Now.. well, it's a whole different ball game. And I enjoy it.

Redcoat wife and AfterShock Thank this.
