    What kind of ":help:" are the oilfields yellin' for?
    Well cappers?

    With today's barrel
    :Metal barrel: of oil prices,
    it's too expensive to drill for black gold. :Oil tank:
    The pipeline stopith here ------->
    :Pipe line:
    The gas line starteth there ------->
    :Gas:
    As we demand supply --- it dwindles.
    Along with the jobs associated.

    What you got to be kidden right? Who in their right might mind pays that! This is so said Mrs RC, that I hope your hubby, and you make it threw this difficult time.. Heck when I started OTR is making .26c per mile..

    It is so said that a company can keep getting away with this type of business practice. If they want to pay that low, why not just give it to all the illegals.. Heck at 15c per mile X 3000 miles a week that equal only $450 week, talk about slave labor,

    Because they're pulling out of the fields. :yes2557: They've been rescinding their sign on bonuses for leases left and right in the Fort Worth area as well as in the Haynesville Shale. Just last month they were offering $25000.00/acre. That's now down to $5000.00 if anything at all. They have been shutting down rigs also. Can't tell you the exact number right now, I just know it's nowhere near as busy as it was a couple of months ago. With the economy and fighting with city ordinances(at least in this area) it's just too much. Not to mention all the people with their hands out for the big sign on bonus, but now say "Not in my neighborhood!". :biggrin_2554:

    RCWife, I hope things pick up for y'all in the new year. Happy New Year!!

    All my friend drivers at Covenant are upset about these changes, specially the per diem. But what can we do? Take co. to court? I will invest my time in finding another place to go in the near future. It wasn't ever my intention to stay at Covenant for more than a year anyway. I guess all big companies are similar, so I will try to find something smaller. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF U! :biggrin_25519:

    The sad part about drivers quitting Covenant, is for every 1000 drivers that quit, there will bee 2000 newbies waiting to take their place for less money.

    It's like back in the 70's. All the small trucking companies in my area, and there were a lot, formed a loose association. One night they were takling about how bad freight was, and the companies that depended heavily on O/O's would lose a lot of them. One owner stated the truth. He said for every O/O that goes out of business, two more dumb #######s will be waiting to take his place.

    The more things change, the more they stay the same.
