Nope. Came back to Birmingham for the night. Anticipated 9 degrees in Tupelo, MS. Anticipated 12 degree low in Birmingham. I have all the shades down, the curtains drawn across the windshield, and the square vent cushion stuffed into the ceiling vent. Am trying to keep as much heat in as I can but the furnace is still working hard even though the thermostat is set on 65. I have on my warm clothes and I'm wrapped up in my quilt. The dogs took care of their business in record time this evening. They do not like the cold. <grin>

I got my med transcription course books in the mail today. After taking a quick scan, this school is no joke. I will have my work cut out for me. But I'm a good student and I look forward to the challenge.

    Truck update.

Team Redcoat has found out that the truck actually has a blown head gasket.... at least I think it's just the gasket and not a cracked head. No ETIC on when it will be ready. And so they sit whiling away the hours in grand style at the Red Roof Inn. Redcoat is about pizza-ed out. It is so cold in Ft. Wayne that the dog doesn't even want to go outside. I told Redcoat his teammate should figure out something to put on its paws as his pads are probably freezing and it's probably painful. Redcoat said they walked about 500 yards to go get some dog food and by the time they got there his face hurt so bad it was unbelievable.

If I had enough money for fuel, I'd pack it in and relocate down to the gulf until it warms up to something more reasonable. What's that movie where the top half of the country froze over in minutes? That's what this reminds me of.

Current temp is 18 degrees in Tupelo :biggrin_2552: I'm about to crank another burner on the heater myself.

A blown head gasket will take them out for the remainder of the week. Unless they have a good (aka broke & hungry) mechanic working on it.

Good luck, and you guys try to stay warm.

It's that global warming. No, I mean climate change. Wait, what is the latest phrase now that the earth is cooling again?

Induced Enviormental Temperature Oscillation brought on by ignorant truck drivers who idle their trucks insteading of dying from exposure in order to cleanse Mother Earth?

Yea, that's the new word, Induced Enviormental Temperature Oscillation.

    P.S.
If this phrase catches on remember you saw it here first. I want my royalties.

I hope rc gets going soon.I have been in trucking my whole life.I have been in situations like rc and waiting is a lot harder than working.I do enjoy your thread I find it less negetive than most other threads.I even have my wife reading this thread.I hope rc gets to a point in his career where he can actually enjoy trucking.I enjoy trucking most of the time.It takes a lot of patience.I wish you and rc well
