He's only a few mils north of me once he hits French Camp. Tell him to run careful through Sacramento. CHP is out in full force there right now.

It's that Way in all large otr companies. At least my compnay tells the customer where we drop trailers, if one of our bobtails comes looking for an mty , and you have one, he's taking it. We do not aloow our trailers to used as warehouseing on site.
Wait till he has to go on a wild goose chase in the So. Cal area looking for mtys. -
ThaT's messed up.
Any company, withthe exception of Covanant as i read, loves the fact the load they were hired to move, gets to where it's going early.
Been early so may times in 5 years out here, i have lost count.
Each day i have to snd in a check call. This lets the office know that i'm on schedule. If we are running late, we snd in a msg on qc saying we are late, and this is the eta to cust. That gives the office a chance to either find a repower for the load, or move the appoinment back.
If deley is do to weather,,,, then my company tells the cust, the load is going to be late do to poor weather (we do not reroute do to weather)condtions, or closed raods.
We need to reschedule. The drivers covers his back side by snding that msg, and doesnt get blamed for being late.
Your better half need to tell the office every thing going on with the load. Good Communication with the office is a must.Last edited by a moderator: Jan 31, 2009

Change to the change.
I think they call it bait and switch. The company baits Team Redcoat into thinking that they have a decent load after this one and then they switch it for another. So here's what happened.
Team Redcoat makes their drop at the yard in French Camp this morning. Then the company has them drive a hundred miles (round trip) into San Fran to pick up the load headed for KC. This takes five hours to do in Saturday traffic. Then, when they get back to the yard, another truck takes the load to KC. Redcoat says they'll probably have to deliver the load they brought in to Newark on Monday. So for five hours' worth of work, they each made $15 since Covenant doesn't do local pay anymore.
Now they get to sit until Monday. Redcoat is doing his laundry. He's PO'd (as usual) at how they get jerked around. Can't say as I blame him.
Stay tuned. -
When it looks like your doing well, then the make sure you know that you still work for a crappy company.. Sorry to hear about RC, when I drove OTR, and had to deliver in CA, it was always a nightmare getting back out..

all this is true, but it depends on the DM, I just told mine that there was a storm coming into SLC, and I have no chains and ---do--not--- chain. period. I told her that I needed out now, even if my hometime was affected.I got a load into CA and I will ride her to get me out, now you see what MCR was writing about all this time..
Covenant is a master of deception and lies..and the company only serves it's needs and not the drivers....at least team redcoat is at a yard, they could have been dumped somewhere with no facilities as has happened to me.
They flaunt their ads that they respect the drivers, that communication is part of the plan....reality is that they are a self serving perverted company. -
Change to the change to the change.
OK so Team Redcoat is back on the Kansas City run. From what I can gather, this is what happened---
Yesterday they arrived at French Camp and dropped their trailer. Then they got a message over the QC to go pick up the load headed to KC and bring it back to French Camp. They THOUGHT they were going to take it on to KC but that wasn't the case. Apparently another driver was going to get that load so they sat all day in French Camp messing around, doing laundry, etc. Around 7 last night they went down the road to find someplace to eat and decided on an Indian curry place (which Redcoat says ended up being crap). It probably took them an hour to eat and when they got back into the truck there were 19 QC messages waiting on them to hook up the trailer they just picked up that morning and make the run to KC.
So the KC run is back on their plate which is good but Redcoat said something must have gotten fouled up somewhere. Either the other driver didn't show up or something else must have gone wrong at some point. His deal is that they could have gotten started 10 hours earlier if they'd have just kept the load in the first place instead of having to leave out at 10 at night after being up all day.
There's also something else not exactly right because Redcoat said they didn't know what all the destinations were and he had to tell them from the BOL. There's three drops to this load, one in KC and two in Illinois. Redcoat says he has to sit down and figure out exactly where they all are because the KC and Illinois deliveries are on the same day and he wants to make sure they can get there in time.
So Team Redcoat is rolling again and are working their way through Nevada I think.
Happy Super Bowl Sunday everybody and since my Eagles didn't make it, guess I'll have to root for that other Pennsylvania team. -
Storm coming into slc? when?
Just check the NWS website, unless you call sunny days for the next 4 day a storm.
So how do you run in the western states where your REQUIRED TO carry chains? During certian times of the year.
Just because you carry them, doesn't mean you have to use them. Had the same set of chains on my truck for the last 3 years, have never takin them off, except to move into my new truck in March. -
Mrs. Redcoat, the next time your better half has to sit in French Camp, tell to go south on CA 99 to Ripon, where he can find Flying J and Loves.
Only 9 miles.
I''d be d@##### if i was going to sit in a drop lot. -
