You need something to keep you warm at night. Hehehe. Just funnin'. But really, I cannot sleep one wink with any cover over my head. I can't sleep if I'm breathing my own recycled/warm air. Stupid I know, but just can't sleep that way.
CommDriver Thanks this. -

I have an electric blanket, which is useless because the truck dies after 2-3 hours of being shut off, blankets up the ying-yang,but I'll be ###### if I'm going to pile all that on top off me to keep warm. Plus, you have to get out of bed and get dressed in that "icebox" of a cab....and all this for what? To save covenant some $$$$??
Hey if some drivers are happy with that,ok....but not me.... I'm not in the mood to find out what frozen beef feels like!
And we have to be more civil with each other here, we are drivers posting our daily struggles and strifes,so attacking one another is the wrong way to go....
As far as catching a cold goes, there are many ways to get it,but sleeping in an icebox does not help..right now I have a cold, probably from direct contact or getting cold outside in frosty cold of wyoming trekking across the lot to go potty...who knows, but it is a miserable feeling being that cold in your cab...
So best wishes to all, stay warm and safe. -
Rocks I do not sleep as well if the truck is running.A lot of times I go to bed without the truck running. If I wake-up cold I start the truck and fall right back to sleep. It is not uncommon to sleep all night with no problems.Luckily I am warm blooded.
Do what you have to do to stay healty.I wish you well.Rocks Thanks this. -
I found it easy to sleep with the truck runing, it was something to get used to but I did it..Actually the truck acted like an alarm clock to me LOL

And, with all the darn rules and federal regulations we have here, it's becoming harder and harder to do this job... I really don't like to work for any co. This is my first time. Have been self-employed all my life. And now I feel like I have very little control over my job, and never know what to expect.... Anyway, I hope you come back to this forum... visit us once in a while, would you?
Stay safe, and warm out there.

We have been reading the posts, and others as well. Me and deb have been searching for a place to stay but the job market is tough right now....
I have been listening to the news, about the bailouts, about the economy, about how deep the greed is in corporate America, how people in California are being given IOU's for their state tax returns....and no one says a thing about this, not a whisper, have we really become so numb and indifferent to what is happening?
People are losing jobs and homes faster than can be replaced, investments for retirement have been liquidated...people on the edge of utter poverty....and still we
go on as if this is a minor glitch in the program.
The government will not be and is not the solution, nor is Obama, now we will see what an inexperienced politician he is,retoric only goes so far.
We are thinking to stay free for a while and see how this all plays out, if it deterioates to a point of collapse, we have agreed to head north into the hills with as much provisions as we can take, I get the feeling we are truly on the edge of a social/economical collapse, and I don't want to be near here when that happens.....
We will post more later..and let you know where we are....till then best wishes
