will hear i sit spening my wheels again.

Yes Im at chatt. TN. Its a long story. That happen in all one day.

It has been building up, and i knew it was coming. That my co driver freaked outed.
He started testing the waters as how far i would go.

He said he didnt smoke that much. and would smoke out side the truck. that didnt last long. I just dont like the smell. And my sinus. But I tryied to deal with it for now.

Then the radio. When I was driving he would wake up jump in the front and change
the station as if it was his. I wouldn't care that much, If he just asked. With the
same turn I would do the same thang and he would freak and hey don't mess with
    my radio.

One day i was backing and turned down the radio so i could hear. and he turn it back up. We are like to kids turning the radio up and down. This pissed me off so much I was ready to pulled the fuse.

Then he would start with this " you still have hours to drive." Or " the way i see it, its still your time to drive." I dont under stand how he figured this. I work on a 7 day 70 hour week, 10 hour aday clock so i do not worry about a reset where i would sit 34 hours waiting on a load.

This was crazy! He would fuss over it and over. Day after day. He would drive 9 hours days and think i was a fool and fall for it. I told him I have to have 10 off to driver again. And if I stopped driving at this time and its this time and it adds up to hours. You tell me whats up.

He claimed to been driven for 6 years{what are you doing hear} But you can tell he was lost must of the time. Stopping to check where he was. are turning around and going back.
Which we all do from time to time. But we dont lie about. He was taking pichterds like a chinniess on vacation in CAL.

Anyway leading up to this morning. I made 3 drops two in VA and 1 in AL. Then back to Tn. To pick up, I drove from 8 am to 8pm 10.5 hours.

Shipper said load be ready at 4am. the next day. So I ask you want to go to walmart or pilot. We have to fuel before we pick up. He said walmart. Fine right.

The next day his phone alarm clock was going off and I have to wake him up. Hey your phone going off. He said ok got it. I went back to sleep.

I have another clock set to go off later. When it goes off I look around and he still a sleep. Hey it 320 and we still have to fill the truck. He said ok.

My snooze was set at 15 min. It goes off and I look around and he not up. I wake him up and say hey we got to go. We cant fuel the truck now we got to pick up now.

He wake up and started running his mouth. Saying what your itch ### want. Its not my time to drive it yours itch. I just rolled back on the bed and waited to see what would happen.
He got out of the truck and took a pissing the middle of walmart parking lot. Gets back in starts saying get your itch ### up hear mother fer are im going to bust you in your itch ### head.

So we went on like this for awhile. I said if your not going to drive im going to have tell dispatch your not driving.
He started driving got to shipper said he wasnt going in to get the load. He did his job he drove.
I said will we just sit hear then,Its your job to go in and get it. He stated Like hell it is.

See where this going. Know how its going to end. ME TO!

So I got on the QC and told covenant what he was doing. They wanted me to stay with the load which I knew it was inportant to get done. But I ask them would you go to TX. with him acting crazy. Come on ill wait.

We came to chatt. and to keep it cool. I kept it quit of what was going on. I played it smart. and Let everyone what was going on. So I had a heads up of what was to happen.

I talked to them on the phone. Trying to get me to run this down to TX. I told them I was not worryied abouit him knocking me out .I'm worried about what i'm going to do to him when I defend my self.

Boom! lets brang that load over to the yard and drop it and empty move to chatt.
When I got hear i went to check in and take a shower.

Went to the team meeting. And thats where he found out he was booted out of the truck. He was told to get his stuff out by 530pm.

I got a new co driver and we might off by tomorrow.

I dont see how you guys do it, teaming with complete strangers. Do they team you up with rookies?

When you are a Cov. driver going thru the mandatory 6 month teaming, you either sit and wait for a "good" partner :biggrin_25513: and don't make any money and take the risk of sitting too long and being dismissed from co. or team with whomever is available. :biggrin_25513:

If teaming is a hassle for males, can you imagine for females???????????????:biggrin_2556: Just a thought....

Best of luck to you Big Wheels with your new partner. Your 6 months will soon be over and you will be "free" from this ordeal.

I'm hanging on. I tell you covenant needs a different way of teaming people up.

Too many people are learning they can be jerks and get a way from it. They are not going to get fired, rep amened, are as far as that goes in trouble on any level.

Working in a office people are not to yell at one another. Threaten you with any harm. Disobeying rules. How many boss would put up with someone acting like a fool.

The way covenant got it set up. Is like there is a team meeting at 3 o'clock pm.
They ask if anyone teem up yet. If you are not team up with any one they give you phone numbers to call to see about teaming.
How can anyone know if they can team with someone you meet on the phone.
Or they put pressure on you to pick someone. There are no posted guidelines to follow. but you have a few minutes to talk to this person. You can ask question back there dislike and likes. Are even state that what you don't like. Make some agreements between one another.

Until you get miles away and boom they turn into who they really are. Its a big wast of time and money. You loose money by not working trying to find a new co driver.
Covenant waste alot of money with this system like this. and loose alot of money with that truck sitting and drivers not working.

As new driver coming in to this line of work. Going threw this type of systems would send anyone running the other direction. and not ever becoming a truck driver. that is need in the USA.

As opposed to what their "I CARE" slogan says, Covenant doesn't care at all. Drivers have given ideas on how to change the way they team up people, but Covenant will not change. Coojoh used to be the only person we could count on for help when trying to find a good team partner but he is gone now....:biggrin_2557:

I have been running as good as gets for now. I have run from to Nashville,tn. to Indianapolis terminal drop and back empty to KY to pick up and run to PHoenix, AZ to Tucson,AZ to mesquite,TX. Now I'm at hutches terminal. Waiting for a load to be pick up in Dallas,TX in the morning. Going to Atlanta,GA to Miami,Fl.

So far The co driver seems to be cool. But He is waiting for a student to test out and then he going to team with him in about 3 weeks.

I haven't been home scents march. And the lady is starting to complain. I'm going to have to go home soon. I really cant afford to go home.

But for her I will. I do not know why covenant pays only $.14 a mile. for all we do. Knowing we have families to take care of.

I'm hoping after six months something turns around for us. But I love driving the truck. And all the things here are not bad.
It a great place for a young person with no family.

Will hear to some better times and better thangs to come.

I haven't even begun to read all the pages of this post, just the last one, don't even know if Big Wheels is the original poster, but dude I've got to give kudos to you and what you're doing, you're being a man about everything and doing what you've got to do, not home since March? That's crazy, but again as a man you're doing what you need to do to move forward in life, as a 7 year driver out here I'll be one to say, probably not the first, but you're going to go far in this career, you're mentality towards things will carry you down the road and lead you to greener pastures. Be safe out there and keep moving forward, pretty #### cool to see someone like you taking lifes lemons and turning them in to lemonade.

Its poster like you and all the poster i have been grateful to talk to and listen to. Thank you for your words. I am the original big wheels and only on this forum. I'm doing what i have to do for my family. Which is not enough. for me. I have it ruff and so do they. It does pain me to talk to them on the phone. Hear about there troubles. Knowing there is little I can do. I am at the mercy of covenant. Which they commit to. I'm not sure what they commit to anymore. Thanks for your post.
