While all the companies are struggling for freight during this downturn.
I think I can say with a degree of certianty...that most are just giddy about the sudden surge of "fresh meat" that doesn't know any better.
Hell, I bet Covenant big wigs (and others) are dancing in the hallways with glee.
Covenant. OMG we didn't know!

They would also be able to boast that their fleet is "newer" because it has one fifth the wear and tear.... LOLAfterShock Thanks this. -
I would agree with you, except for a couple of items. Having seen the inside of this "newer" fleet. I can honestly say, their trucks are trashed faster than ANY I have ever seen in my life.
A Covenant truck with 185k on it, looks like most other fleets trucks do at 600k or more.Last edited: Nov 16, 2008

Covenant in my opinion is not that great of a company to even send rookies to--they should be sent someplace where they are taught right, not someplace where the company sees them as a co-driver who will run their truck an extra 2500+ miles week, so they can make the bucks, the trainer gets rich and the company pays them their little piddly $300 a week and laughs all the way to the bank. Then when they get their own truck, the company cant figure out why they cant do it, I dont know, why doesnt the company tell us? -
One exception I can claim is In n' Out Burger. They are christian and they treat their employees well, and the employees in turn let that show in how they treat the people who are making them money. I have never had a bad experience at that place, and it's very, very popular and they rake in the money. I think this is due to the fact that they know what being a christian really means.
They built a store in Placerville, CA and their trademark is two palm trees crossed like an X. The city made them take them out. The city's reason....the palm trees were not indigenous to the area. How many other businesses have plants that are not indigenous to the area? Plenty. But the palm trees X is the greek letter for Christ, but the city will never admit this is the real reason. And yes, there are businesses in Placerville that have palm trees.
Didn't mean to be so long winded, sorry.melanie Thanks this. -
And not only does In-N'-Out Burger treat their associates well,
they produce a quality product.
Just thinkin' 'bout an In-N'-Out burger (Double-Double with fries, please), makes my SoCal mouth water.
Ummmmmmmm ---- good!
You folks who don't have an In-N'-Out Burger in your area, don't know what'cher missin'.
They're what a burger oughta be.
OH!
BTW, TW, when it comes to "long winded" ----
fret not.
If long winded was a bad thang, I'da been banned LONG ago.
