well i didn't get the whole story from the git go.... and now i'm tinking this will not last long.... i have 3 years otr and 4 years local hauling gas/jet fuel.
the only reason i am here is due to the fact that i went local for 4 years alot of companies don't consider me a driver anymore....except these buttholes!
i knew they had issues long ago but, they have surpassed what i heard......
come tax time i will take my cash and head back to fl possibly....
better to be poor and warm than poor and cold and stressed out!!!!:smt067
with the economy the way it is, and so much uncertainty right now,the idea of changing companies doesn't seem like a good idea.........:smt102.........
    best wishes to all.......

:biggrin_25516: Well I am back to vent. Just got off the phone with Mac and ummm. &*%$##%^*%# sorry lol. They have been stuck with a broken down truck since ummm day before yesterday. Rearend blown. So they were freezing machanic said 4 to 5 days to fix. Of course Covenant doesn't want to pay for parts. " they have their own at the terminal and will have it brought to the shop" :biggrin_2551: WHEN ?. Anyway. they didn't want to put them up in a room but finally did. This morning they were told no more hotel stay. u need to get to the shop pack as much as you can and get to the nearest terminal. ( what about the microwave, food, water in case of emergency, blankets, etc) Anyway, Mac and partner said ok. Me being the non believer that I am in Covenant. I looked up the bus schedule there are only two buses that pull out of that station daily and umm they have already gone for the day.. So can you say umm they will have to sit up all night at the Greyhound station,.............

    I am fuming. pissed...

    1. I don[t know why men don't ask more questions ( lol don't bite my head off guys.. its true us women want to know the bus number time of departure and how soon they will be working on getting us back by the original truck to get our Sh jjjjj t...)

    2. This is a heartless company. Mac and partner haven't been pulling any loads for the past week ( no money in the bank ) and they basically are frigging stranded.

He can get a job with almost any company with less than 6 months. Of course, the current economy and such will affect the speed at which he finds one.

Bonus ?? I've walked from better companies than Covenant will ever be, with $2k or more in vacation and bonuses just weeks...even days away.

2 months is an eternity, when you're talking about dinged DAC's and accident reports. Which can make your job search, even less fruitful.

Kinda makes one wonder whether Covenant has their drivers on a color-coded list.

Red, meaning the higher paid drivers that they would prefer to replace.

Yellow, meaning there's still time to scare 'em off before they get red.

At Covenant, there seems to be a "bonus", which I'd imagine is a lure for some to hire on ---- dangled like a carrot.
And company mismanagement is charged against the drivers.

I'm thinkin' that IF they receive the "bonus", it might cover their down-time.
    How convenient for the company.

Thank goodness for the company bonus.
I bet some folks depend on receiving it to
cover the weeks with little mileage, and the
high cost of just sitting and waiting.

When is a "bonus" NOT a bonus?

Just spoke to Mac. Dispatch just admitted that the bus leaves tomorrow and oops you already checked out. They are bunking out at the mechanic shop eating vending machine junk till morning. Mac says he isn't worrying about the bonus just his time.
