I feel like in all my research I've found a lot of negative info on all truck companies. My overall opinion is that regardless of what company I end up with its ultimately up to me to take full advantage of the opportunity and to make the best out of it.

They're all the same really. I'm about to finish up my first month with covenant, so far its alright. My dispatcher is a really cool guy who listens to what we have to say. Breakdown department always gets the truck fixed without question. A lot of ups, fedex, ltl carrier drop and hook loads. There are good miles here if your willing to work. Also they will reimburse you for $100 for each day hometime is missed....up to two days. I'm based out of pomona, ca terminal, so it might be different for you depending where you're at.
Stuka Thanks this. -
Also I didn't vote for this poll. Because I really don't know what company will be best for you.

Unfortunately the training is team driving. I got lucky and had a good trainer so that didn't really matter. He wouldn't go to sleep in the bunk right away and would sit up front for and help a little bit. But to answer your question, yes the training is operated a team which can be good or bad.

Navy will, my wife and I trained here at Covenant together. That's what's drew us here as we didn't want to split up. Three in a truck was tight but it was just 5 weeks. We learned how to split our shifts and how to become true partners as a team not just driving partners. This is our income and we hold each other accountable.
Our trainer is still here and only trains teams, preferably hazmat ones. I think Covenant has about 20 trainers that are designed for team training only. Been here 4 years got 7-8 to go and headed to retirement. Good luck. If you need any questions answered let me know. I can email the vp of ops to get you what you need to know. -

Wife and I team at US Xpress and are very happy here.
Like Craig said Schneider doesn't allow invertors. We make a lot of our meals instead of eating out.
US Xpress allows pets and the thing we love most about the company is that they allow us to idle the truck when it's above 70 degrees as much as we want. Think how important that is when it's 100+ degrees outside.navywill Thanks this. -

Just got our pre-hire letters from Covenant and were filling out application for US Xpress today so hopefully we will have a pre-hire from them soon!
