    All companies have dedicated accounts for solo.

    For every good account there are some bad ones. Ask a lot of questions before getting on one.

    It happens, but you almost have to try. I think the idle threshold is 50% and they give you at least 2 warnings before they actually start docking your pay. Happened to me once when I got stuck in a SE regional rut running nights/sleeping days in the humid summer heat...

    When you're teaming idling is really important. If your partner is sleeping and its hot out and you turn off the truck to check in at a shipper or take your breaks it gets really hard to sleep in a truck that's quickly turning into an oven. Or when you go shower & have to come back to a hot truck & sweat your butt off right after you got clean.
    Sometimes a load isn't ready & you have to wait also. Just remember guys, happy wife, happy life haha. Women don't like to sweat it out like they're on a safari

    Also to think of when looking at companies is this;

    Do they have passes for the tolls? Some companies expect you to pay them & get reimbursed, but only if they approved you going that way.

    Do they have prepass? Being able to bypass the scales saves a lot of time & headaches. Sometimes DOT is just itching to find something to liven up their day. Some companies will offer it free as a fixture in all their trucks & some others want you to pay for your own prepass as a monthly fee if you want to have one. About $16/mo

    Agree -- And Covenant never mentioned a word about idling while I was teamed, only when solo. Teams are moving 18+ hours/day -- its hard to hit the 50% idle threshold when you're moving 75% of the time...

    Covenant has Prepass, Pikepass, & Sunpass. There were occasional tolls that you had to pay cash and get reimbursed, but they were the exception and you didn't need preapproval.

    I will say, since we park our truck at Covenants headquarters in Chattanooga, looking at the setup they have compared to USX they are way ahead of the game. The shop is super clean and organized. Automated truck wash so no waiting in line and the trailers are a LOT newer. I mean a LOT. I think these things matter. No idea how efficient the shop is but talking to them they are great people. We had a great experience at US Xpress but I think if we were going to do it again we might have chosen Covenant.

    Yes, that is definitely a thumbs down for Schneider, as well as being governed at 60 mph (it's like making $1.75 an hour less than running 65 mph). I like Schneider, I'm just starting out, but those are two big reasons why you may want to look elsewhere.

    As of right I think US xpress is our first choice with Covenant second then Averitt....I've kind of dripped Schneider it of the running. I like Schneider training but there pay is lower than the others.

    With most companies this changes all the time and may depend on where you live. I would call them and ask a recruiter.
