Thanks, I'm still with covenant. 6 months including orientation/training. About 4 months being in phase 2. They bumped my pay up to .44 cents a mile. I could leave and make more money elsewhere but I like my dispatcher and they get me home every time no arguments.
At Chattanooga right now, truck getting worked on. Been pretty good so far except the occasional screw ups. For example yesterday I had two loads cancelled after driving hundreds of miles. Sucks but it happens. I'm not one to complain but I'll just move on. We both make mistakes including dispatchers and drivers...as long it's not an everyday problem I can deal with it.
Money has been awesome for a young man with not too many responsibilities. Definitely happy with the choice I made.double yellow Thanks this. -
What are you doing at the terminal? I'll be swinging through there Monday or Tuesday.
-
Truck needs a new fuel filter, and installing an inverter. We have a load already picking up in atl, Georgia going to Alabama later tonight.
-
Quick question about the inverter. You just need to bring them the inverter and the installation kit and they install it no problem? That's one of my primary motives for stopping at the terminal. That sucks about the leaving out today. I'd swing through the terminal today on my way to Shaw but I have to to a turn and burn.

Ya just tell the shop guys and they install it no problem. My trainer said there is a 1000 watt maximum so keep that in mind. I think 1000 watts should be enough for an electric skillet.

That's what matters as far as rehabbing your record. I think your official hire date is the Thursday or Friday of orientation.
Anyway, glad the teaming teething is behind you and you're making good money. If you've got a good partner, there probably is no reason to look at other companies.
Ps: 1000W is plenty for a skillet. A microwave is probably the biggest drain and those are usually 500-1000W. -
I think it's safe to say that there will be upset employees no matter where you work, but people usually make a big deal out of what those people say and not so much about the good things... I will be working for Covenant when I complete my driver training and get my class A and like you I believe it is best to see for myself what kind of work environment it will be! I have already found someone to team with in my group at school so at least that is one thing I don't have to stress. The only thing I'm concerned with is going two and a half weeks on the $100 we get in orientation... I don't have any income since school is 12 hrs a day 5 days a week? Anyone know if that's all you get until your first check?

You can draw an advance when you get your first load.
