Actually... they dont care how seasoned you are! they pay people to be jerks! All I can say is I never even backed up a truck untill test day! drove the truck around the lot and backed it once. then got sent on my way!

Yes it does, and so does the perdium, and also they are screwing us by not paying our local taxes. they way I see is strait up we get about .11 cpm.

 

let me make it clear... I have been with this company for 10 months. to date the only time we as a team have ever turned in any descent mileage is when we turn in 2 or 3 weeks at a time. we have had our HAZMAT since day 1. and also double,triples and tankers. I even have passengers endoursement on my licence. I am plenty well qualified to haul what ever any other covenant sucker can haul! the problem for me is I dont like being ripped off! I dont like being reimbursed and taxed the money getting reimbursed! I dont like sitting 47 1/2 hours and then getting 180 miles to BFE then being left to sit another 40 hours. Andy Vanzant asked us not to take ANY time off in June as this is high mileage time! we have 2000 miles to turn in this week, 1000 is from last week, so to date for the week we have eraned about 100.00 each this week. yes... I have seen some people earn money, they either know who to blow or they have been here since the dawn of time! and you are a complete moron if you think .20 cpm is good after being here forever. especially when that is only after your hzmt and safety bonuses! and not only that but they make it look like you perdium is part of your mileage, (NO F'N WAY) a perdium is giveing you your tax dollars bax before tax season, and they probably tax those dollars too! wich in my opinion is also fraud!

so far the only happy people I see with this company are the fellons who cant get work any other place, and the crooked people who are either getting paid to set up failure or the skeleton crew in operations and safety who are paid to cheat you.

 

At Covenant they pride them selves on sticking 2 students in a truck with one trainer who uses them as cash cows! they learn nothing from the trainers and are left to train them selves as they go! so person number 3 is a 2nd student... now I have learned usually the first sign a company is crooked..is when they start touting their religion...so they can hide behind it. I know I am not the first and I know I am not the last! but what they never counted on was me being a people person... so, even though many Covenant Drivers wont turn on them, the witnesses I have many are from their very own sister companies. Like Southern Transport, and Star ( they are not affraid of Covenant bully tactics) for the record... even though Covenant sux, they are not the only one who has this criminal practice. there is also CRST and I do believe US Express. as well as many who figure that if covenant get away with it they might too. so pass the word around... new drivers should be made aware that if they go to Covenant they are putting them selves at risk! and not only that the trainers only spend about 30 min total in the jump seat with a trainee. so basically... you train your self! and what they miss is some some people are actually smart. SEE truck drivers has big dumb guy Image. noone realizes that a trucker really must be quite intelligent. but numb to BS. so Covenat who trully does believe them selves to be untouchable they do set the standard for new driver abuse! As I said in the beginning, I have regretted getting my CDL for about !) months now!

 

Sounds like you need to talk to management or get a new fleet manager. We are running very well. About 22,000 miles per month 2 months in a row.

 

we are on our 2 nd fleet manager, thought he was cool, now I know there is no such thing in this company! I know that there is nothing but corruption here! out of my class of 32 students 20 students went to covenant, out of those there is only 3 left! all of wich covenant ripped off, they had to go home and wait for partners... Covenant volunteered their quit... then made em come back as re-hire, then stole their tuition reimbursement. such crap!

 

That is JUST WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bet many companies do the same thing,volunteer quit on drivers then rehire to avoid paying tuition reimbursement.You'll learn the longer you're in this industry that truckers have no rights,no freedom,no say so, no nothing unless you get it approved and signed by your company.
