This happened to me once. It seems to be the ongoing thing now, as I have talked to others it has happened too. Letters and phone calls, that you quit or decided to take another job.
Mine was in the form of a phone call, that was directed to recruiting. Explaining I had taken another job and would not be coming to orientation.
Reckon who and where that call come from? Thankfully, I always do follow ups. And got that mess corrected immediately. It delayed my orientation by a few days...no biggy.

Well today is thursday, freightliner said it should be done at 1pm. So i have to check out and take all my gear, girlfriend and dog and go sit there till it's done.............then go to the terminal here indy, which by the way the day i broke down, the **shole guard told me i couldn't stay there and had to leave asap, go figure this #### out!!
Well then i have to take the smith system course which is more important than making sure i make money or get my hometime. The other problem here is that the dispatchers are all company "yes" men/women. They push company policy and don't give a rats ##* about you your welfare and safety.
Also, good luck with the breakdown dept. When i broke down on the side of the highway, i called in and they said i should fix it and get it to a ta. Of all the #### i have ever been told, this was by far the best!!
So, once again folks, come work here if your belly can take in all the bulls**t they will feed you, unless maybe your a good christian and holy roller like them. Leave your religion at the door, and be more humane, there i go again! Sounding logical. -
me pretty much got into a yelling contest at that point. I caan't work for stupid folks with dumb ### attitudes...I received a ltter stating I had quit 5 days after I got home and that I told her was a lie from hell.. Then I received a letter arond aug. 8 saying I was term. so did I quit or get canned? I have know idea but, either way they can have that mess there...No one is call me a liar when I had five other people hear what heck that heiffier said...I'm still home and looking thanks...for letting me vent...
-
they can't treat you like your a human they use and abuse whenever it's in there court..I didn't want to go back after they lied and tried to make everything fall on me...I want work for someone like that someone would catch a case and I'm sure it would be me.

OK FOLKS.... I GOT OUT OF INDY. GOT A LOAD TO THE HOUSE, BUT FIRST I HAD TO GO TO BREEZEWOOD PA THEN TO BUFFALO WHERE I SIT NOW ON A LOAD TO CHATT TN. KIND OF A WAY OUT ROUTE TO THE HOUSE?
ALSO I GOT THE TRUCK BACK, THEY CHANGED THE HEAD GASKET, STILL RUNS HOT AN HAS ELECTICAL ISSUES, AND I'M GUARANTEED NOT TO GET THE TRUCK CHANGED.
THEY WILL HAVE ME IN A HOTEL, THE TRUCK IN A SHOP AND LET IT BE THAT WAY.
I GOT A CALL TO GO BACK TO JB HUNT, I WOULD HAVE TAKEN THAT IMMEDIATELY RATHER THAN STAY HERE, BUT THEY DON'T HAVE A PET POLICY, AND I LOVE MY DOGGIE....SHES A REAL TRUCK HOUND!
TIME WILL GET ME OUT OF HERE, HOPEFULLY I WILL FIND A DECENT PLACE, BUT, THE WAY THIS BIZ IS RUN, YOU END UP ON THE KICKIN' SIDE OF THE SHOE. AND BECOMING AN O/O IS NOT POSSIBLE WITH COSTS AND THE ECONOMY.
I WILL KEEP POSTING AND LET YA'LL KNOW WHATS UP, RIGHT NOW I HOPE TO GET TO CHATT. W/O ANOTHER HOTEL STAY. -
Please do not post in all capital letters anymore. It is hard on the eyes, and it is the online equivalent of shouting.
-
sorry! this is something new to me...
..... i'm almost near TN , but as the saying goes #### will happen. and thank you for the correction.
-
well i made it back to chatt, tn. 1 month out w/ the equivalent of about 2 weeks pay.
and now only 2 days off, bills have to be paid.........and here there are lots of trucks to get but they have some bizzare formula for dishing them out. i don't care, i am using this site now to read what drivers are saying about certain companies, and make a better effort next time as far as chosing an otr company. honestly if you find a good/decent one it's can be great out there, riding and getting paid. plus with my dog and girlfriend, i can say that this time out.........is the best i have experienced so far.
also, on another note about covenant, if you come here to chatt, tn, be ready to get put into an orientation w/about 50 to 150 drivers, in their hotel and as they claim, no trucks to be given out.
i've been reading alot about CR ENGLAND, i'm glad i never went there.........
i will keep posting about covenant............
AfterShock Thanks this. -
hi again to all that are reading this. i got back on the truck today, but since i haven't done the "smith system" course, i am not going anywhere fast, money is not the objective here at covenant, the false facade of safety is, in reallity it's just the way all carriers satisfy their "insurance" measures.
i called my -dm- and asked if we had any frieght going to fla due to the fact that my girlfriends niece got killed yesterday in an accident and the funeral is sunday. well, he said that her best bet is getting on a bus, he couldn't do anything for me.
this comes from a company that has a new campaign called "care". i call it total bs.
more boardroom christian hipocrates hiding behind fancy slogans that don't mean squat. god forbid if you have a real emergency! when i worked at jb hunt, i told them that my father passed away, they got me to the terminal quickly so i could get a flight to go to the funeral. and they don't paste their terminals with bogus "caring" slogans.
i have 4 months to go till i get recertified, then i am out of here. everyone here knows they don't want you to stay, they prefer the inexperienced divers that they run into the dirt and cheaply also.
the talk here is that the trainers only do this for the pay, not suprising. i hear so many complaints from trainees that they are only there to make the miles and bonus pay for the trainer.
oh well, i will keep posting on all the stuff that is going on here.........and like i have stated before, you will need a strong backbone to get thru the program here: and find a better place to pursue your career.
best wishes to all the drivers out there! -
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I'm not convinced that's an accurate statement.
MACK E-6 Thanks this.
