I've talked to the intermodel driver and they like it pay starts out @18.75 an hour, just wondering about their OTR division, they approved me to lease a 2012 peterbilt 384. miledge pay doesnt look the best @1.10 after 90 days though!!

How is the lease purchase with them? I'm currently a company driver for another company and hAul a lot of the same places. They keep sending me an email. It says you bring home $1400/w after all deductions. With weekly home time. How true is it? Legit or no

Not true. Cowan Systems most recent lease purchase plan was facilitated by the merger with A to Z transportation out of Pennsauken NJ. Former owners of A to Z, Ken S. and Brent T. now operate Cowans lease division out Brunswick NJ right near the BJ's wholesale distribution center. (One of Cowans bread & butter accounts) when I was there a few years back, Jim was dispatching from the Brunswick terminal. Loads are mostly RE Michaels (HVAC and plumbing supplies) BJ's wholesale and Sun Laundry detergent coming out of the Baltimore area. The lease is a standard lease you get. 91 cpm plus fuel surcharge. Miles are there but I doubt the 1400. Not saying you can't do it, it's just highly unlikely.

You may get that on your first pay check though. When I was there the first tank of fuel was on them. So the first check was nice.

The life or death of your lease will invariably be with the guy booking your loads.

    Good luck

I came down 95 south going towards the Fort Mchenry tunnel the other day. I look down under the bridge as I went by and saw about a dozen bobtail peterbuilt tractors just sitting there. My guess is they're lease tractors that drivers turned in. I guess they have their fair share of turnover like anyone else. But yes they do pull containers out of the ports

I know I’m late to this party but I will say this anyways. I went for JB making 71000/yr to the oilfield for Keane making maybe 85,000/yr. Some weeks were a lot better then others. I then left in August to buy my own truck. Found out I couldn’t do it without a place to go run for. So I spent till the middle of this month (oct) looking for a place to put a truck on and be PROFITABLE. I have yet to find it. So for all of u guys that wanna be l/p’s to be o/o or o/o running for some one else there’s no such thing. Unless u know that guy that’s making $2.00 mile min 2500 miles a week min and very low fixed expenses like the place I’m at. Truck, ins, work comp, road tax, tags, ky w&d tax.
    350, 100, 72,1.5%, 2263/yr, 500/yr. With all that being said I don’t get 2500 miles a week so therefore I can’t make money.
