Lease purchase with Cowan is basically like any other lease. Cowan teamed up with A to Z transportation out of Pennsauken NJ. Now the owner of A to Z, Bret T. And Ken S. Run the lease division out of Brunswick, NJ. For Cowan System. The terminal is behind BJ’s wholesale distribution center. Trucks are governed at 68 mph. All peterbilts, stripped down to comply with Cowan’s “The Lightweight Fleet” policy. Trailers are spring ride. (I guess airbag equipped trailers are more heavy) the trucks are just basic. Most of your loads will be BJ’s wholesale, Sun Laundry detergent, R.E. Michaels plumbing. Those are their main accounts. Most loads are very heavy (They pride themselves on being able to haul heavy freight) so figure that into your bottom line when you’re doing the math. Back when I was there they were paying .91cpm. Super heavy freight kills your mileage and you’ll rarely see a light load. You might get a Dixie Cup load. You’ll fuel against every load. Loads out of the Jacksonville BJ’s are always over gross.

It’s a strict company. Like a police department trucking company. Look under I-95 going south as you approach the Fort McHenry tunnel and look at all the Pete’s that were turned in.
    Good luck
