Gee..what a surprise. Bet they are getting RICH though...
..I can just see them.... They sounded like tall blonde hair kids that we used to call CHET or BIFF or CHAZ in High School and drove around in their little Beemers and stuff...little ascots on...

I've hauled a few loads with Coyote , I like doing business with them.
Most of my loads with them where over the $2. pm . Yea , I get calls from them asking where I have my truck and if I'm available, I kinda like that also,, shows they want to build a relationship with carriers not just use and abuse you.
So yea,, if you are wanting to know if they are upstanding ,,the answer is simply YES.
As for hauling those cheap heavy loads,, it's not any brokers fault if you haul them for chicken feed, they have a job to get carriers to haul loads for a little as they can,, that's normal for all. Just say no thank-you or give them what you can haul it for,,all they can say is no,,, then they will call you back and pay your rate or you simply get another load.
"say NO to cheap freight"Last edited: Oct 30, 2011

Definitely!
I booked a load with them when I first got into trucking in June of '10. Actually I was surprised that they gave me the load because I had just started the company and didn't know much besides the fact that I had a really good driver in that truck & a decent truck. They payed somewhere close to like $2.20/mile from CO to FL. For my second overall load that was like the best thing that could have happened to me. Even though it was potatoes & they had loaded me 200 over the legal limit, had to have the driver refuel every 300 miles
Ever since then though it's been downhill. If they call, that means that they either really need a truck or are hoping you'll haul some cheap *** freight. Had a good load going from ID to IL once but if you get into the Northeast, they'll try selling you $1.20/mile reefer load with 5 pickups.
Had to wait for over 45 days on payment for another load because they didn't want to pay the lumper fee on one of the drops or something like that.
Both good & some bad, sometimes if you get lucky, they pay pretty well. Other times they're like anyone else trying to have you haul that cheap freight.
Those posts though were seriously some very desperate sales guys though - I mean really put a brokers name and number on here because they have good loads? Umm, yea I think I'll keep that number to myself in all honesty unless you're a really good friend of mine.
But what do I know, I'm just a dispatcher working for my pops, trying to make enough to buy my own truck in a year or two.

haha funny thing i came up on this thread, i just got off the phone with one of the guys from CL. After he sent the agreement, i asked for some rates on the lanes that we usually move from tx to pa, they are offering $2200-2600 for 1500miles this is in a dry van. agreement is going right in the paper shredder
Wings2Wheels and rollin coal Thank this. -
I have to second SHC's sentiments - this is one of the funniest threads I have ever read on here.
I will never forget their name now, that's for sure!SHC Thanks this. -
I thought this would amuse the folks on here. I got a call today, and here was the follow up email:
Hey Chris, my name is **** and we talked today about getting set up in our system so we can begin working together. As a company we move around 2,000 loads a day and I focus on freight going in to and out of the Northeast. I am excited to begin working with you and try to help you out anyway possible. Whatever you need I will figure out a way to help you out. I have attached the new carrier packet that you can fill out to us and email back when you get a chance. Again I would like to thank you for your time and please check out our website at http://coyote.com/. Please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best,

When I spoke with you earlier today, the name 'Coyote' did sound familiar, and now I know why.
I try to stay as informed as possible about various industry issues, companies, and trends, and one of the ways I do that is through a website called 'The Truckers Report'.
Someone posted a thread on there regarding Coyote, asking if anyone had dealt with them and had any information about them. The disturbing thing is there were numerous responses to the original poster, all from people who had only just signed up for the website, and then posted only once. Those posters (posers?) gave Coyote rave reviews...but again, the likelihood of them being actual shippers instead of someone within the Coyote system attempting to make Coyote look 'golden' is about as likely as the Pope knocking on my door asking to use the facilities.
You can look at the thread for yourself here: http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...owner-operator/158687-coyote-logistics-9.html
I am curious if you showed this to your superiors if: a) they are aware of it, b) if they would even care, or c) this type of activity is actually encouraged and condoned.
I'm probably only a few more years older than yourself, but the one thing I have learned through my upbringing, service to our country, and as a business owner is that sometimes all you have your honor. Honesty and integrity do mean something, and I refuse to do business with any company who would act in the manner shown in the thread I posted.
At this time, I will forego completing the Coyote brokerage agreement. Instead, I am attaching our January 2012 flyer, and encourage you to give it the once-over. Higher Power Transport is a company that says what we mean and mean what we say. We back it up through our actions, refuse to use the term 'backhaul', and we most certainly do not haul cheap freight.
Please keep me apprised as to what you find out regarding the posts on 'The Truckers Report', and the very best to you in all your future endeavors.
God Bless -

Funny. I just filled out a carrier packet for them today. LOL. Freight rate was ok for a slow time of year. I didn't book a load though. We will see when that time comes.
