Yes but the attitude of the original agent, screaming at you for not covering an apparent difficult load he needed covered.. Really it just shows the ingrained contempt a lot of the mega-broker agents have for us "stupid truck drivers"... and the gall of us to think we actually know something about the regs we operate under, or can't make a profit off their pathetic first offers when they know better than us that we can.... like he was doing you a favor "you fool can't you see that?????" It gets you to thinking about the good ones you know and why you hold them in such high regard.. I have hauled many profitable loads for mega brokers but it's like pulling teeth and nails.. and you just know below the surface how they really feel.. ..in other words, I would just not drop whatever I was doing for any one of them. On the other hand there are several "good guys" that I would drop anything to help them out if they needed it. That is rare.

Good points rollin coal and as far as I am concerned the contact burned his last bridge with me and the owner of the company that owns the authority, even the owner does not like this guy for his different ways of doing cheap loads.

Sad part is it took someone from Coyote to read my post, yes they know what I posted and even asked me to delete this post and I refused to do so.

The village is burned and far as I am concerned his low ball loads can be hauled by someone else.

Yeah they watch place like TQL and others I am sure. Loose lips sink ships makes me think that I ought to keep my thoughts to myself about the biz. Did you see the 50 year veteran driver asking for rates and lanes from everyone? I mean come on....

I agree with this on a broad sense. But think about that for a minute. Have you looked around you at the truck stop and seen who the other 90% of what they talk to sound like?

On the other hand, Coyote has been generally good to work with from my experience with them. Sort of like what TQL could be if they cleaned up their sketchy business practices.

aiwiron: Maybe I set you up accidentally? If you had the same carrier rep I did and you got to him after I did? I was deep into their dispatcher and my carrier rep threatening to return a load after getting treated like a house slave at the Safeway DC in Houston LOL. Not sure if they actually did anything about it, but on my third and final approach to the gate, the rent-a-cop in charge was now more businesslike and cooperative. Probably not a coincidence, and thanks Coyote if it weren't!

You have a good point there... ...I've considered it many times and honestly don't envy them what they have to deal with, but totally forgot about that when posting earlier. I've never worked with them on a single load. Really I'm just wasting bandwidth and hammering on brokers for sport lol... ...but I know our other trucks do/have and we have good relations as far as I know. I remember there was some horsing around on a thread in here about a year ago when Handarko asked about them and that caused a big stir. One of those threads that went to about 8 pages in a half hour lol..

I picked up a 1250 total mile load out of the Boston area from Coyote, including 300 miles empty, for $2.55/mile - but it took 3 hours of him calling me to finally understand that I wasn't going to budge from my initial rate quote.

They also are resorting to TQL tactics - posting loads originating and delivering in cities 50 or so miles from the actual points. I wonder if their reputation for cheap and pushy is catching up to them?

Update, seems like the broker from Coyote is extracting revenge for my posting this and not deleting it as they wanted it removed.

Now they have called the owner of the company and said if we refuse to haul a load then they are canceling the contract with our carrier, very dirty methods and underhanded.

I am not stupid and they are making a huge mistake, I never broke any laws or extorted anyone.

You don't need their contract if they cannot see that your not willing to haul something that your not legal to haul. Why do they feel the need to badger you like this? Plain and simple, your not set up to do intrastate, so call another carrier, Geez! :biggrin_25510:

Just put them on my "Do not do business ever" list. Right along with TQL. :biggrin_25516:

Perhaps the owner of your company should make a phone call to the lion at the top of the Coyote food chain.

I'm sure that management (and the FMCSA) would be interested to know that you're being pressured to haul illegally.

I used to work at coyote for over a year. Amazing the amount of crap that is going on. Growing to fast and not the capacity to handle it. With the new rules for brokers coming with the increases in bonds. Many brokers are going to be out of business. Sadly this behavior and attitude against truck drivers is going to get worse. Don't take there crap and if it's Chris/ mark tell them dubs says go #### yourself. Coyote was a great place at one time the culture changed as did there contempt for drivers. I would not change being a driver for being a broker any day. Just helps I know both ends now. ;)
