So if you stop using your cpap device, as Philips suggest that on their recall page, can a trucking company be within their right to suspend or terminate you for not following compliance with your cpap usage during this situation with the affected devices?
my company release a statement that we can chose to wear it or not. they wont hold us accountable. but you have to have a device under recall. since its a national recall. the government wont enforce the required time
Wow. Thanks for the quick response! That puts me at a bit of ease now. I have a 1st gen Dreamstation, and that one is listed under the recall. I got it it back in 2016, so I'm due for a new machine anyway.
No, I don't use any cleaner for it. The ONLY dark substance I see around the device is on the little plastic filter pieces on the outer casing of the machine.
cpap supplier suggested a bacterial filter be used until such time a replacement machine can be delivered or Philips starts doing a fix. fits in between the hose and machine outlet. getting mine from amazon delivers Wednesday..... med card due i. sept. had my sleep doc appt this morning. new resmed ordered for me. supplier hasnt received their july shipment and have been deluged with new machine orders since recall announced.
Amazing how just like the HOS, you must use that machine OR YOU ARE UNSAFE & A MENACE & A THREAT TO THE PUBLIC WELFARE unless It's going to cripple commerce, then you know, you probably get by without it.
since I prefer being alive as opposed to not being alive via heart attack, stroke or rolling a truck, I'll keep using the machine I have with the additional filter as described above until my new one arrives. While I cant see fumes, I detect no black particles in the tubing....
since its a national recall. it wont matter if you dont use it. you will still get a card. you wont get in trouble by dot
