CPC stolen

Punishment isn't the biggest issue. Catching the thieves in the first place is. Police don't prioritize property crimes.

Your not wrong. And i was going to do a whole spheel about it. But TLDR is its 2 sides of the same coin. Not enough good cops funding and equipment to do the job. Combines with a lot of really bad laws modern social norms and policies hindering the police.

And then a lot of criminals knowing the laws are so lax even IF they get caught they will likely get let off scott free. See all these thugs lately with rap sheets that read like an encyclopedia on being human trash who only finally go to jail after murdering someone.

One is easier to fix then the other imo.

 

Common powertrain controler. It basically the brain that links the electronic parts of the whole truck together. No cpc no running truck since the ECM cant connect to everything else like the transmission and such iirc. Dont quote me though. Im not a freightliner guy

 

It's located in the dash. Behind the panel that has the trailer brake, air ride dump and power divider switches. 2017 cascadia
I think 6 screws hold panel in place. The cpc looks like an ecm. Mine is held in place with 2 cable ties. It had 3 multiple wire connectors.
It took me about 15 minutes to swap out old for new.

If you are healthy enough to carry a back pack and a medium duffel, buy them to size to fit your belongings. Once you get used to what fits in which carrier best, it will become habit, and you'll be able to leave and re-enter in very little time. It sucks, but it has become a part of every day life anymore.

Many years back I was talking with Oregon Motor Carrier Division about private usage of a semi tractor. I had read the statutes, but had a few questions. One was about the decals I often see "Private. Not for hire". The rep said they mean absolutely nothing. If anything, they may attract the attention of certain troopers. Moral of the story, decals, cameras and anything that may indicate to the opportunist that there is something inside with enough value it needs protecting, may have the opposite effect it was hoped for.
