CR England and the government shutdown

the shutdown is just a political show to get government-dependant people terrified that they can't collect their welfare checks, apply for benefits, call the EPA to complain or be audited by the IRS (Nah, that part's probably still up and running) Give it 2-3 days and they will pass a Budget Sequester and all will be back to normal. Happens every year.

 

You need to call them, CR England and tell them you do not have your SS card.. you can not go through the hiring process without it. If, you try, you will get sent home..

Don't, blame this on the Gov. Shutdown.. you should have taken care of this earlier and had you you would not be in this position...

 

Would a copy of last year's tax filing work? It has your SSN on it and is a government document.

 

CRE not waiting is a blessing in disguise, cause you could go just about anywhere else and undoubtedly have a much better experience...

 

I have never tired it, and do not know specific company policy. but according to the Social Security website you do not need your ss card to get a job, you just need your ss number and 2 forms of government ID like a licence and passport.

Social secruity should not be affected by the goverment shut down, the office I was at yesterday to get my card replaced said they aren't included in the shutdown, social secruity is taken out of every ones pay check and should be able to keep running

 

just call your recuiter or someone at CR england and explain the situation, ask if they absolutely need the card or accept other forms of legal ID. If they need to see it you will just have to reschedule your start for a later date. as I posted earlier both social security and irs websites say you do not need the card to get a job, just need your ss number and 2 forms of government id. so see what cr england says
