I was fortunate enough not to. Any onto the truck but after an experience like that, your mind can play tricks on you and make you itch when there's nothing there! Lol
I would love to hear from former or current CRE members of this forum if they had any bug bites, racism, or sexual discrimination while in training for CRE.
Hey there Hang - Man, I too ran into both the bedbug problem at the Indiana school and had a racist phase-1 trainer. The ten months I spent with CRE was absolute hell and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Needless to say, I'm glad to have landed with a better company now, but it was one hell of a nasty run with England and I didn't have the resource$ to pursue legal action at the time... but I'm curious to see how the current Class Action lawsuit against CRE turns out.

BTW, the motel involved with my bedbug mess was called the Travel Inn in nearby Portage, IN.

One of the nicest students I met at my short time at the Schneider Training Academy was a current employee of CRE. He took some time off so he could attend the medical screening and he couldn't wait until Schneider said everything with his background and medical were A-OK and he could leave there. He said it was disgusting beyond description.

Can you elaborate on how he was racist?

Absolutely, he said and did everything he could to make white guys look bad... but mostly what he said. In fact, at the time, my fellow trainee (who is also black like the trainer) talked with me many times about how he couldn't believe how racist our trainer was toward me. He supported me when I filed a complaint wiith CRE in Salt Lake and I don't believe that so-called trainer is still driving for England.

That's why I'm a proponent of having same race trainers/co-drivers, so conflicts like this don't arise. I can't tell you how many stories I have read on here of black trainers treating the White student badly. Sorry you had to go through that.

As a Rookie I'm glad to pass on them. They have sent me numerous emails and phone calls about joining and the recruiter is not friendly. She treats you like a number. They should try being a little more flexible with there drivers. Out of all the companies I interviewed with. They had the longest on the road time of all. Requiring 3-4weeks before any home time. If you wanted a home every weekend run the pay was lousy. I have talked to several companies and most only require OTR drivers to work 10-14days before home time. Reasonable for someone with a family. CRE gets you in because they seem so desperate they will take anyone and try to get you to training as fast as they can. Scares me to think they will put just about anyone in the driver seat.

If England is that desparate, you would think the recruiters would be nicer to the applicants. You were smart to pass on them.
