That was the safest place to sleep up there. 2 trips a week with multiple drops from Charlotte to NYC, loaded with textiles up, deadhead back. Paid the truck $5 a mile or more, depending on drops.

Well actually my intention WAS to be a little amusing, however, while also pointing out that you seem to have an answer for EVERYTHING somebody mentions, and it's ALWAYS from the point-of-view of the carrier. I've only seen that type of instant, automatic defense of the carrier coming from office staff, company reps, etc.
It seems almost as if you're either a "company man", or you just really enjoy a good argument.
There's a handful of guys I know who automatically take the opposite view in any discussion or argument. For example, our parts guy is like that. If you tell him that raindrops are made of water, he'll disagree with you and say they're made of Heinz ketchup. -
Just curious Ronin, when you went into this lease, how much did you figure you would make? The reason I ask is that .18 cpm is awful. I've never been a fan of these lease deals.
Was CRE taking out costs you were unaware of?
I didn't read the whole thread so maybe you already covered that.
These companies never fail to amaze me at what they do to drivers. What a crooked industry. -
I thought we'd do around 45 cpm.... I was wrong. The thing that got me was not having my wife on the lease, and having pay insurance and stuff like she was a contract driver.

You keep bringing up the idea that these rollovers are just fantasies of someone's imagination and yet none of the active CRE drivers has onces said they didn't happen. In fact, I believe corneileous has referenced five or six of them, if not all. If it were grossly untrue I would expect that to be prominantly disputed, but... crickets. However, seven rollovers in a week is not surprising from a company that has a training program whereby drivers with six months of "experience" are training new drivers.

Heinz? HEINZ??? And all this time I thought it was Hunts!

-
Heinz? Heinz 57 is a steak sauce, hunts does make ketchup
-
Heinz makes all sorts of stuff. Most famous for ketchup.
Hunt's doesn't make ketchup they make "catsup". It's that stuff you get in crappy restaurants that's so gross you don't even bother ordering fries next time you're in there.
Here we go, totally derailing this thread. Oh well, it's degraded to nothing but bickering over hearsay stuff anyway.

hmm been awhile since I bought anything but Heinz 57 it's all I recalled at the moment, but now that I gave to think about it a little more. I do recall Heinz Ketchup Hunts does make different items.. I stand corrected.. thank you!
