For starters, that comment wasnt directed at you in the first place. Remember that little piece of advice I gave to another poster?

But, you are right for the most part. It is a forum for posting nonsence. Well, most of it anyways.

I agree. Maybe if they did pay more, we'd see a lot less nonsence.

Well, it wasnt. Sorry to bust yer bubble.

Soo, just because I answer promptly to most comments and answer them in such a manner that I do, the only thing you can think of is question who I am? Hmmm.

Well, sorry thats all youve seen but theres a lot more to the big picture here. As Ive stated many, many times before, Im not defending this company like so many of you foolishly think I am. I read things that dont make sense to me and I respond. Maybe its because most of the time, I get the extreme pleasure of dealing with people who have never worked for this company and are only going off of what theyve heard or read on here.

Well, buddy-boy, things are often waaaaaay different from what they "seem".

Its not that I like a good argument, a good debate maybe, I just find it hard to keep quiet when I hear things like this when I know good and well that most of it's untrue.

Ok, so only apply that trait to folks you know, not someone on a web forum that is next to a complete stranger.

Yes, there are people like that but in this particular situation, I find it rather appalling that with that last part you said that in other words, you are making me out to be someone that just has to disagree with the rest of the crowd regardless if what the "crowd" is saying.

Im not disagreeing just for the hell of it, as much as you would love to believe.

But one last thing, in regards to what you said, for example, If all of you said raindrops were made of kethup I said they wernt, Id probly be treated in the same manner. Am I correct??

I just put "SLC" om the bills after I've left the window to avoid an argument or the "death stare" - my company would see that, not give me any crap, and it stops there.

I like the places that have you count the load and verify the count.....then not allow you to be on the dock and witness the pieces you just counted get loaded onto the trailer......I wonder how much does and how much doesn't get loaded?

Easy pickins for an inside theft ring....and pass the blame on the driver.

Right, and that's been going on for a long time, and good to say, it's not nearly as bad as it was in the early days of trucking, when delivering to Chicago, LA or NYC... I've got some older trucker friends that went through a lot in that matter.

When it comes to claims their copy of the original BOL better say something to the effect of SLSC.

You could write it afterword, change piece count, change weight, dock times........

Unless it is on the original that they signed it does not count for OS+D issues.

I only deal with one facility that signs the bills anything other than SLC, U.S. Cotton in Rio Rancho, NM. Its driver count, shipper load. I guess they don't trust the slackers that work there to do it.

Interesting change though, they used to write your arrival time as the time they put you in the dock, not the time you arrived. "We'll take care of that." They said on the arrival time on the sign in sheet. This last time, they asked me to sign my arrival time and noted it on the bills, as well as dock time and departure. I guess somebody raised a stink about how they were doing it before.

As for drop and hook loads, I've been known to write d/h on the bills. Or "presealed by..." or some such. Get a dirty look, but not any flack yet. It's not SLC or STC (said to contain.) There was the time in New Jersey when I was expected to be on the dock counting freight. No problem. Only thing was all the pallets were stacked with irregular boxes that you couldn't just count how many high, wide, deep. You'd have to count every box individually. Would have taken hours. I circled and initialed the pallet count, signed the bills and left. The ...um.... nonperson at the counter didn't realize I had just signed the bills STC and that I agreed with the pallet count but couldn't verify the piece count.

You're darn right! The rest of us have already agreed that raindrops are indeed made of ketchup. The only debate is whether it's Heinz or Hunt's. :biggrin_2559:

:biggrin_2552:Oh come on now, playing the old " cast the blame game " ? How often do the schools teach about diet, fatigue, excercise, and knowing when to pull over and take a break ? From what I have heard from recent school graduates " NONE " ! It's all about the assembly line mentality. And did England or most other schools stress these facts ? I don't think so ! And " Yes ",I do blame these schools and companies who use them for not doing more research on their schooling methods. To a new driver recruit,I can only suggest that you be extremely careful when choosing a school to learn about driving a big rig.

Actually, in CRE orientation, tehy do about 4 hours on sleep cycles, circadian rhythm, etc... probably to cover an insurance requirement, but I learned something and found it interesting.

It WAS funny, though... watching a 350-375 lb chain smoking instructor give a two hour class on driver health, nutrition and fitness.
