Those 3 companies I think would be a good fit for the op.Here Airgas is looking for a warehouse/back up driver that only requires a class B.But they also require computer skills warehouse and forklift exp.Im always seeing ads for local drivers in Calif.

Signing on would probably be the biggest mistake of your life, outside of marriage.

I would strongly encourage you to avoid CRE at all costs! It sounds like you have a lot to offer some company, but you just need to do lots-of-research and you will find a much better company to work for... I slaved for 10 months at CRE before I finally got sick of their major major major major BS with how they treat drivers. Although I then went to Schneider (North East Regional) and they weren't a whole lot better, it seems fairly safe to say that the first couple years getting into this industry are tough no matter what... but if you know that and are ready to handle lots of BS, it WILL eventually get better. Good luck with your search.

    Thanks for the responses everyone.

You know's what's fishy about all this is, CRE hired me without even meeting me in person. I've always known that if it's too good to be true to step lightly. Anyway, I have to think it over. Life can be complex. I don't know, I'll play it by ear. The problem is, everything is over an hour away from where I live in this bedroom community. In two more months I'll probably move further north towards LA to avoid these crazy drives. Most people back home in Chicago drove 15 to 20 mins to work, out here it's normal to drive 1 to 1.5 hours one way. It's nuts considering the state of California is ripping their citizens off on gas and all the other fees they charge for everything. The DMV is a joke in this state. You have to to drive there for any kind of form, and there's fees for everything. It cost me 40 bucks just to get my address changed on a card I just recived. And no one in this.. F...ing state seems to even care. It's like people are getting bent over and they're totally ok with it in Comufonia. Really pisses me off. Sorry I want off.

I've tried them Chinatown, they're not hiring at the moment. But I didn't walk in. That's what I probably need to do.
Sending resumes online though these scam sites like Indeed.com and career builder are a waste of time.

Howcome u left Chicago to move to Calif.Far as England saying u have a local position once you complete the 3 month otr training program, what they say and do are 2 different things.Companies are always giving false promises.I wouldn't get my hopes up about anything.Companies have ways of bringing drivers down just before they're about to go to a different lane within the company.CrEngland has a huge turnover rate, worse then other mega starter companies so that right there should tell u what they're like.If you have more doubt then reassurance about this company,I would take your friends advice.

CRE gave you a Pre-hire just like any other OTR outfit. The recruiters lie and do whatever they can to get you into the facility and waste your time. It's about numbers and commi$$ion.

I bet 2 bucks, you are over qualified for that job and will tell you lease or go home.

Yes according to the reputation England has they're bad but you're going to find out a lot of companies that hire local drivers don't call them in for an interview. They're concern is your MVR CSA work history and exp which is proof enough.

If you can move to Texas or Nevada, there's plenty of jobs of any type you want, plus no personal income tax. Las Vegas is starting a $1 billion dollar road project on I-15 that will last 3+ yrs. so there's some cement and asphalt jobs for drivers. All along the Gulf Coast of Texas are untold numbers of good high paying tanker jobs; Houston down to Corpus Christi is tanker heaven, plus great fishing in the Gulf.
