Your argument basically excuses the negligence of the OP and his failure to take responsiblity for the aftermath of the accident. Whats worse, you're doing it to appear as though you'd be some sort of outlaw vigilante in the same situation, which I'm willing to wager couldn't be further from the truth. Consequence free? Hardly. Had the OP been diligent in the aftermath, collecting information from the driver, gathering witnesses and/or contacting the authorities, there'd be certain consequence for the driver who hit him. BUT, since the OP didn't gather anything at all, or contact anyone, or have any witnesses (it appears), his story seems about as likely as the "tough guy" image you've attempted to portray.

And this is where Drive Cam came in VERY handy for me. Similar situation to the OP at the T/A in Buckeye, AZ. last year. Only in my case it was a very clueless, almost non-English speaking Covenant driver. Hit my r/f fender pretty hard. Reached up, hit the blue "record" button and had very nice color video of the incident as it happened AND 8 seconds BEFORE it happened. My company sent the video to Covenant and their insurance company reimbursed us for about 4000.00 in damages and my boss even got an apology. There was no controversy whatsoever as to the cause. Just stupid is as stupid does..

When you catch someone trespassing you might or might not have the right to protect you and your property. Same as when someone breaks into your home. At least you have to make it look like it. When someone backs into your truck on accident, you dont have the right to bop them upside the head, no matter how right it might seem at the time

Seriously man do you really think I'm making this up? Do you think I would file a false police report and risk going to jail over a company truck that i don't even own? Listen man it was the middle of the night at the tear corner of the parking lot not many people walking around at that time also i looked around and didn't anyone during in their front seat and i sure wasn't going to start knocking on peoples doors waking them up to see if they saw anything. Like I stated in my first post i was woken up from a deep sleep I jumped out of the truck in just a pair of shorts an old t-shirt and a pair of flip flops. When the guy said he was going to move out of the way I turned around to get pen, paper and my phone to get pictures of course since the guy tore off my for handle i couldn't get in and had to get my spare and that's when he took off it was over in thirty seconds and for half of those thirty seconds i was still half asleep. So don't you try to imply that I'm somehow making this up and next time you should think before opening your big mouth.

I said the offending driver would feel the rough side of my tongue, not that I'd "bop" him over the head, although I would be severly tempted. And I am no vigilante by any means. I am not a 'tough guy' nor am I going around randomly beating up people who piss me off. If I did, I wouldn't have time to do anything else!

What I said was I would protect myself and my property. That's it. If hunters trespass on my property, and I see them, they will definitely see and hear me! Its my land, and if you don't have my permission then get the heck off! Trust me when I tell you that my language is far more forceful than almost any weapon.

And by the way, PA recently updated the "Castle Defense" provisions to include the entire property. But there must be a case of "life in jeopardy" to justify lethal force.
