If I'm going to drive like an idiot I deserve videos be taken of me as I shouldn't even be driving if I'm that stupid/bad.

Hey, at least this guy stopped before he hit the bridge, unlike the morons that plow them at 40 mph.

Exactly what I was going to say. It's all too easy to get into a bad situation regardless of driver experience. Recognizing the problem before it causes damage is what counts. The title of that video is silly and plain wrong. Striking the overpass would have been an epic fail. Blocking traffic while you figure a way out is just an inconvenience.

The england driver ended up on one of the "parkways" where trucks are not allowed. Happened to me once, and had to drive down the middle lane to clear the overpass. No cops around to bust me! 🔄

On a somewhat related topic, don't forget about another current story with CRE...

"CREngland Wants Exemption From Student Driver Rules"

    posted at http://www.thetruckersreport.com/crengland-wants-exemption-from-student-driver-rules/#more-7835
If you've got personal experience with CRE, you really might want to submit a public comment on the site linked to TTR's story. Based on your experience, does CRE qualify for the exemption they're asking for? Big Brother is asking for your input on this...

That England driver going down the hwy on wet pavement chained up. ..sorry no amount of help can cure that stupidity. ...that shows either he's got an inexperienced trainer or the student doesn't want to listen or both...there's a difference between helping someone who shows they need a little help from the sheer ignorance that this driver showed. ..

Yes, when I'm taking a video from the passenger seat I always begin the opening by holding the camera in front of the driver then panning over to the passenger seat. It's much more dramatic that way.

Good try for a save. You forgot to edit out the center pillar on the windshield at the beginning of the video.

I've seen this quite a few times on I-70 west of Denver. They have a Sign telling people they need to chain up for US-6 and many people misinterpret it thinking the need to chain up "now" for I-70.

I can't bring myself to poke fun of someone willing to throw iron even if they made a mistake. I just hope they realize what happened :)
