Yeah I had to retake the written to get my Class D back, which was annoying because of everything I had already gone through. Like I keep saying, as far as the license goes, the DMV or the post office dropped the ball, 2 attempts to get it mailed to where I could pick it up, and take it to my local DMV and get it transferred into my actual hard copy. When the DMV (In SLC) told me that I had to pick it up there, I only had a a week left before I was going to hit the expire date, England told me they would get me back ASAP and I finally returned to the terminal 4 days after my expire date.

This is one reason you go to school in your home state.

The mail thing sounds funny. Was it certified mail? Did you live at either of them addresses or was just sending a random letter to it? The postal system is all computerized sorting and without a change of address, the system probably sent it back to the return bin.

Ours worked somewhat this way. You get your permit in your home state go to school, graduate get a Wisconsin cdl and then when you get home change it to your home state. I'm sure there are some grey areas that they operate in, as far as different state laws go.

Some states the schools where the testers come to them use the motel as their permanent address. Then when they get home they change it over. Each state is different.

Probably 95% of the students don't stay with their training company very long. That's why I would pick one in my home state when looking. Then you don't have to deal with the aggrevation of changing it over.

    roehl929 Thanks this.

That was kinda my point. He was issued a license after he had passed all the tests. The state not getting it in the mail doesn't change the fact he held a valid license three months after issuance.

Gotta be more to this. You can not just not have a license because your copy wasn't mailed, and if that is the story you bought you got scammed.

The SLC DMV issues a paper copy

The DMV mails something to your home of record

You take the thing that DMV mailed you and you go to your local DMV

You then do what your local DMV requires you to do to produce to you a hard copy

    -------------------------

What the DMV mailed to my address I gave them was RETURNED TO THEM twice.

My paper copy EXPIRED because I did not get back to the DMV as they ASKED. England couldn't get me routed back to TERMINAL to pick up from the DMV.

    --------------------------

I hope this breaks it down I don't know how many times I have to explain the same thing? I shared my experience with England. I am UNHAPPY because they told me 4 days after expire I would have to PAY for everything like I was NEVER there.

Now, can we get back to the point of this post, and let me know who I should look into for driving.

@Roe, I'll look at May trucking, I have heard of their name before... Just hoping to get some actual feedback from people other than what I can read on a website and possible fake testimonials. :)

That's a pretty truck, SLCTrucker. What is it? Company driver or lease or O/O?

Dude, check it out. You need to go to a company like FFE. They require that you go through their school, even if you have a CDL, and if you work a year, you owe them nothing. They're "big enough," but not "too big."
