Dude it makes no difference to me whether you believe this or not....really. I drove for CRE for almost 2 years (trained the last 1.5 yrs) most recently left 6 months ago. I was in their SLC yard yesterday and read the qualcom while sitting in my friends CRE tractor. 7 rollovers in the last 7 day! Substantiated....believe it or not...I don't GAF!:biggrin_2551:

That rascal guy was wanting more than just hearsay tell of accidents, like news article links or something.

That sounds good. But you do see where I was coming from? Listening on the CB guys already have a play by play ten miles before a wreck they haven't seen yet.

I try to give England the benefit of the doubt and see what happens. :biggrin_2559:

Yeah, that "hearsay" stuff - you know, that crap that rumors are built from. How's this for a posting; Werner plows into ocean but is saved by killer whales". After I post I'll offer no other explanation or leads.

How's this one?: JB Hunt ends up on an International Runway and gets stuck underneath a Boing 747 wing. Jet takes off, truck and driver are never seen again"

Now this one I heard from a reliable source, from a guy who used to work on the docks. Well his brother's wife said that she told her parrot who mentioned something about a crash they thought they either witnessed or seen in a movie (I can't remember which), involving a tractor or a trailer, maybe it was both... something to do with a driver who was typing on one of those old typewriters and trying fax it while driving and... blah, blah, blah

Also..... having known several safety managers from several companies... it's a common situation to drop in BS messages, usually pertaining to accidents or theft, hoping that the folks reading it will jump into shape and stop doing what they were doing.... and drive/park safer.

In a huge company like that, who would ever know the true facts of how many accidents there were... unless you worked in safety.

Yes I was responsible for putting MANY unqualified drivers out on the road. You can only do so much within the confines of "the system". I did my job to the best of my ability. We had impossible training/time constraints. I'll admit that I signed off on all but one trainee. Most were NOT ready by a long shot! It was the third time in 18 months I almost got killed by one of my students that I realized I needed to make a change. I have no fear of death. When it is my time so be it. I did not want to wind up paralized or with melted skin however, and live a greatly reduced life. I sacrificed a weekly income of approx. $2,000.00 /week take-home ...for 1/2 of that now. I am no longer responsible for sending out kamakazies in 80,000 lb missles. I have asked the Lord for forgiveness. And I have waaaay less stress in my life now. Life is good!
