Bet it will turn out like a Giant trucking company. There truck destroyed a friends car. Ran over her, and totaled the car. One owner in great shape, but older car. Chicken trucking offered them $500. for the car. And second day. Offered them $1500. to close the case. Report showed the truck at was fault. Driver even told everyone. He did not see the car.

My wife was working the late shift at our local truckstop back years ago. She had a nice buick that was 4 or 5 years old at the time. During parked in the car section by the corner. It was during a snow storm and when she unlocked it and opened the drivers door, the car was full of snow, a truck had drug a trailer over the trunk and bent the roof at the back and busted the window out, totaled with no one seeing a thing. lol

The best way, realistically, is to just claim it on their insurance, get them to pay for it, and let their insurance company try to make a case on CR England. How I handled the last car accident I was in about 6 years ago, when the other person's insurance was dragging their feet.

Doing it that way didn't you have to pay a deductible?

My vehicle was totaled, and my deductible was $500. It didn't make a huge difference. I got that back a few months later. Getting the money I needed now for a down payment on a new vehicle was more important at the time, heh.

I just hope the folks are made whole and in short order. Taking out the local catfish joint is pretty serious business in my book.

Must have been a training session,... The training topic of the day was "What NOT to do, and what NOT to do when you do it anyway"

Driver should be fired, and charged with hit and run. Pay for damages out of his own pocket.

    NavigatorWife and mjd4277 Thank this.
