    Hello to all,
    I just got hired on with CRE as a Co. driver and I plan to keep a running journal on my time here. So far not too bad. Day one: arrive at Burns Harbor Indiana terminal on Sunday. DOT physical, agility test, urine test, road test (for exp. drivers only) and backing test, as well as a welcome to CRE lecture. Then packed up on the bus and off to the hotel (no-frills at the Travel Inn) so don't expect much. the rooms were clean but musty smelling. Monday-Friday classes all day 6:30 am - 5:00 pm 45 min. lunch break. CRE is serious about you being honest with them on your job ap. I saw several people who were sent home for falsifying info or omiting info about their past. CRE is looking for the cream of the crop so to speak. and they won't hesitate to weed out the less desirables in the group. One min. your sitting in class and the next your on a Greyhound bus headed home. a few failed their drug test. So don't think your going to get away with it!
    Places to eat are limited at the hotel I stayed in. but they did have 2 chinese and 1 burger joint that will deliver to the hotel for a $ 3.00 fee on top of your order. so plan on bringing enough cash for meals. Lunch is provided by the school at a cost of $ 7.00 with drink ($ 6.00 w/o drink). I'll have more later.

    It would be nice if CRE, and other mega carriers are getting alot more strict about who they would put in a truck. What made you as an experienced driver choose CRE?You read alot of bad opinions about them on here, but you talk to a driver for them, and they don't seem to complain much, and seem rather satisfied.

    CRE is not so much looking for the cream of the crop, as they are looking to limit thier liablity.

    I agree totally. I'm about sick of reading all the accident messages on the Qualcomm about who did what this time.
    I'm having a very hard time understanding this statement. Are you implying that you would rather take the advice from something somebody said on a web forum that you have no idea about judging their credibility rather than from a real person who you know without a doubt drives for the company?? Wow, if that's how you feel then more power to ya but I'm glad I didn't come on here or anywhere like here and read all the nonsense before I decided to work for England.

    Depending on how you look at the key points in this statement, they are pretty much the same thing.


    You and so many others are only reading the versions published from the wrong crowd.
