swift is the better option. I had my training in phx as well and the school was pretty accomodating for all skill-sets. I hate to see you get used by CR England and since youre a veteran you deserve the best. I also think you should get your training at a community college program at a much cheaper price so youre not obligated to say, for example, swift for the loan. Im still paying off my loan to swift after almost 3 years
CR England OR Swift Academy??

No opinion on shifty or rengland, but Prime does CDL training with $100 administration fee, no cost if you stay a year.
Free hotel room if needed until solo, 3 free meals a day during orientation, $200 advance a week during CDL training, $600 per week gross min during training after getting CDL, .12cpm if miles exceed that amount (for reference I usually pulled in about $800 gross a week with record at $1200)
Longest training time of all companies I think but worth it for real world experience.
After training, solo starts at .41cpm all miles +from .01-.06cpm fuel bonus +detention & breakdown pay with tiny truck (cascadia or pro star)(average otr miles about 2600)
All truck have apus, don't keep trucks past 4yrs old or 550000mi.
Started training in January, now solo at 43.5cpm with a 2014 cascadia i got with 40miles, $900-$1000 net take home a week, can't complain
If you are a hard worker, you will do well here. Both my trainers & my best buddy trucker are ex-army, I think a majority of primers are ex-service.

Follow the advise of others and get the training on your own.I don't know anything about Swift but CRE I wouldn't send my worst enemy to.Go to a local school learn as much as you can, read this forum and research companies and then put in some apps with a few of the ones you think would be a good fit.Don't go through company paid training if you don't have to its a modern day form of indentured servitude.

its hard to say anything about CRE without being negative

I've dealt with worst trust me. So keep your comments to yourself civilian. Information on the academies would be helpful, keep your sarcasm to yourself.

I personally went to Roadmaster, I guess they were okay, but it did cost allot (They do have recruiters from companies like Swift, Werner, Crete etc) come in and try to place you. Hind sight being 20/20, I wish I would have gone through MATC (Mountain Land Applied Technical College) though. I think they go into more detail and more driving time. Not sure what technical colleges you have where you are (would be worth a looksee), but in my opinion, you would be better off taking your GI bill and going that route. Just my 2 cents, one veteran to another.

Yeah but road master is a company that knows it can milk that gi bill and charge 6-7000 to get your cdl
Snowshoes Thanks this. -
Go to Swift. CR England will use, abuse, and discard you like a piece of garbage.

Pass on swift. Stevens or Schneider.....anything but swift!
