I guess what I was trying to get too in agreeing with you tennesseeahawk is that even at $9.25 an hour that is still cheap and free labor...

It's great that a company has started some sort of pay by the hour thing maybe others will catch on but even I 13 years ago started out at .30 cpm and that was with training (which by the way most will laugh but training was like 3 days with a set of doubles)....

Now if you take what I made 13 years ago .30 x by a minimum of 500 miles a day I made at least $150 a day being out which would equate to $12.50 an hour for all hours on a truck...

It's just sad to see that companies can and will and have exploited new drivers by paying slave wages for a job that clearly takes more than an average monkey to do...

and am surprised that even after 13 years being out here there are companies that will start drivers out and even experience drivers out between 25-30 cpm....I know the cost of living has gone up over the last 13 years, fuel prices gone up etc...etc...seems like those that work the 9-5 jobs seem to get pay hikes year after year but here in the trucking industry the norm seems to be well work hard and we will pay you as less as we can.......no wonder we have to work a 70 hour week to make a 40 hour paycheck.....

It may be even lower for the 5 months of the "Career Advancement Training Phase" only AFTER those 5 months do get to go OTR, Regional, etc after those 5 months is when .25 cpm kicks in so it could be much lower during those first 5 months, but it's kind of vague, she never says how much the cpm is during that 5-month Career Advancement Training Phase. Would probably scare off all prospects if she said it, if the .25 alone isn't enough to head for the hills.

That's crazy.. I can name carrier after carrier that pays new drivers better. Roehl $0.32, $0.35-$0.37 after 6 months, crappy Swift $0.33 , $0.35 after 6 months, Schneider $0.34 starting, Maverick (flatbed) $0.35, $0.41 after 6 months. Crete $0.35+ starting, 1-2 years $0.45+. I hope students are reading this, stay away from CR England.

Yup, and I think a couple of those have actually raised pay more as well recently.

And here is the really good news from CRE. Just so you don't get too carried away with all that cash, CRE will only give you 6000 miles a month.
They don't want to overwork you too much. Driving OTR is very demanding, you know!!
OK, so now are you still laughing, or are you so overwhelmed ?
    It's that thing called reality.
How do they keep a straight face?

I'm gonna to check out some local homeless shelters for CRE flyers, maybe that's their target audience.
