But, friend, the forum IS like a CB if you have upgraded to a scrolling mouse. I used to be on 7 automotive forums when I was racing cars and wasn't driving a truck. There were people I considered valuable, and others only blathered, usually just starting stuff or keeping the pot stirred.
For the latter group, I used the wheel on my trusty mouse to cruise on past their posts....

hey ronin i was wondering but wasnt a possiitive that the speeds of england company trucks were safe. and i also heard from a very reliable source that company trucks are getting turned down to 60 mph
-
Haven't hard about 60 mph, but I'm on a dedicated gig, and only have one set (husband and wife team) of friends who are CRE company drivers.
Safe? No, I don't think it's safe to have such radically mixed speeds...like in CA, where the trucks are doing 55-62, and the rest of the traffic is at 70+....or in AZ and NM where CRE trucks are slower than everyone, and most traffic is at or above 75...no, not safe at all. -
thats the thing there should be a set speed for all companies with what is safe and what isnt. 62 isnt even really all that safe to begin with (even though there are a few 55mph states but what about the rest)
-
I'm for much LESS overall control, instead of government-mandated speed controls across the board....

You can't average 4000 miles a week legally, who do you think your talking to. Drivers know what it takes to get good miles. First of all you loose 15 minutes first off the bat doing your pre trip and then at least 15 minutes for fuel and lets not forget the dock, drop hook, etc, etc. On a good day I can LEGALLY drive ten and a half or ten and three quarters of an hour. NO ONE averages 4000 per week, Yea Right.
Heard it all before, driver has one good check a year and all of a sudden tells everyone that's every week, week end week out, your boring me.

the only control they really have is that you have to log five miles under your governed speed
