being on the fuel cap of $ 1.25 a gallon, does not include IFTA no mater what the pump says you pay 1.25 and it does not include tax. we pay .010-.015 for fuel tax and that's calculated quarterly. depending on what states you buy fuel in and how money miles you run in that state...determines if you break even or you get some of that back. I'm kinda greedy, i want it all back. so i work it out.

the atlas is were you find out the IFTA under fuel tax table (towards the fount of the book, it's an orange tab)

Enjoy reading your posts carrot top! I understand there is no way you can post alot more because you have a job to do. I have a question. Does CRE tell or teach their lease operators what the biggest reasons are for failure with a lease? Is it the ind. should not even be flipping burgers, lack of buisness knowledge, economy,or lack of work ethic? You seem to be someone that has found a way to suceed with a leasewith a co. that alot of others had failed.

CR England tells you from the beginning. If you want the miles you have to be ontime. They will give you loads with plenty of time for delivery. Alas there are too many "sleepers" out there that do the paperwork and say well I have 6 days to get the load there, and it will only take me 4 days to drive it, so that means I can goof off for 48 hours. WRONG, and its where these kids shoot themselves in the foot. They are telling you to get the load there in 4 days and dont goof off because you could.

CR England knows you can only do 500 miles per day (on the average). 500 miles is a good number that you dont need to improve on, some may get 600-650 per day, and that is your choice, yet you will be feeling burned out at the end of that week of 650 a day.

The more loads you get there on time, the easier your next load will be, because they know your going to make the company look good. The company tells you this in orientation class.

thanks bamamac, believe it or not they do teach you how to be profitable and to succeed as a lease operator.
    1) run your business, the more you handle the less your dm has to babysit you on.
    2) pick up early, run ahead of time, try to deliver early.
    3) if they won't take you early then msg your dm about a swap or dropping in a yard and get a reload.
    4) try to handle stuff like pm's and laundry / showers when you have extra time on a load and you cant deliver early or drop / swap.
    5) when you give an eta stick to it.
    6) communicate with your dm. don't just assume they know were your at or what you need, sometimes they need reminding about things also. they have over 100 drivers.
    7) don't run out of hours under a load. when you send in your daily check call, theirs a space to say you can reload after you deliver. you only put a y in the box if you have the hours to take any load. if you are working off of recap hours put a n in the box and send your dm a separate msg and explain your situation.

Why does it seem trainers push students to drive at nite? Is it really that bad? Easy really. Less traffic in most cases. You may get tired quicker but if your rested properly you be ok. Guess thats the advantage of training.
