Wasn't this same exact post on another thread? Funny.....
The only thing I see Batman doin wrong is trying too hard to convince people otherwise to change there opinion about CRE. Give it a rest. -
Verrysherry isjust looking out for those who dont know!
-
Injun ... he doesn't know how to figure break point. Basically 3000 miles at CRE will net you about $700. He's just dividing $700 by $.90, coming up with roughly 800 miles. Subtracting 800 from 3000 and declaring 2200 miles to be the break point.
In reality CREs break point is between 1500 and 1600 miles ... still miserable. Even more so, to only net $700 for running 3000 miles.
But then again, if the guy is happy working that hard for that little and is content with the environment/culture at CRE, then who am I to say.AfterShock, otherhalftw and Injun Thank this. -
I dont see how you and so many people act like we're working so hard for so little.
Sure, its not O/O pay or company pay for a 15+ year experience driver working for an outstanding company but how much do you really expect to make just starting out?
When I was out bustin knuckles in the gas patch workin on compressors for 10, 14 hours a day comin home everyday covered in oil and grease, I was paid 15 bucks an hour bringing home at best, 1400 every two weeks. Thats 700 a week. As far as im concerned, I could be getting more, even moreso now because I have experience, but Im not thrashing my body driving this truck like I was mechanic'in.
Maybe Im way off base but it seems to me that so any people expect waaay too much. -
It's that you put in a honest days work/week(some harder than others) and "THEY" don't pay you an honest wage.
Why is it ACT can charge you 5/600 a week and you take home 1700/3200 a week of a hard/honest weeks work, then cre with more miles you get $700.
I make excellent money leasing through the pumpkin, alan makes great money and owns his truck through JCT....... more success stories available just takes a certain type or is it set up for failure?!
In my opinion CRE has the worst lease plan out there. I drove company(not for CRE) and made more then 20+ lease drivers(non trainers) I talked to personally these guys/gals were living off advances!!!!!
Do your homework I know they will take anybody(bottomfeeders) if you go there take the training(it is very good)then go somewhere that will give you school reimbursement pay.
Oh yeah Central Refrigerated is right down the road(Utah) -
Sounds like you made an excellent choice going to JCT. Maybe we shoulda done that but we didnt. We chose CRE. Why, I dunno. Do we regret it? No. We make good money. Have been. Still do.
-
Knowing what I do about JCT, I wouldn't wish that company on my worst enemy.
No idea what the old man is going to do when DOT finally catches on to his solo teams and forces the entire company onto elogs with an on site auditor.
Won't be seeing those $2K checks any more.drvrtech77 Thanks this. -
Gee, now Im really confused.... JCT is like the only company on here that you really dont hear a lot of bad things about but what do I know? Ive never worked for them and to say the least, I havent talked to anyone who has.
Oh well, if what you say is true, its proof that no matter how much people talk up or talk down about a company, 9 times out of 10, its what you, the individual makes of it.
Are there things I would change about CRE?? Oh, hell yeah. But, Im making the best of it, doing my job, and most importantly, not pissing people off.AfterShock, Injun and otherhalftw Thank this. -
Cornelius, just because a company is able to fly under the radar, does not mean it is not just as much a POS company as any other. The biggest difference is, some companies are small enough that if someone does post something bad, it's not too difficult to figure out who it is.
I have an ex boyfriend who leases from JCT. I know how he was run and I know what is said about drivers who insist on running legal.
Thing is, companies that run this way, for some reason, are considered to be "great companies to work for" while companies that insist you run legal and will fire you if you don't are considered to be "bottom feeders."
The key question to answer is: Are you happy there? You are, overall, happy with CRE and feel you get fairly treated. You are able to see more positive things than negative. Keep in mind, this could change at some later date. Answer another question, when this happens, within yourself: Have you been satisfied enough, overall, with this company to ride out this hitch, or is this instance enough to make you want to bail?
Not too many people have the wherewithall to ride out hitches in their employment. Especially when they perceive themselves to be "in demand." There is not much loyalty in this day and age. The majority of people coming into this profession have this idea that it will be all sunshine and daisies, all the time. They are not prepared for hard reality or for low times. They don't consider that there is a cycle to everything. When they start thinking something is going south, they jump ship. Want another example of this? Just look at today's divorce rates.
It is good you are loyal to the company. And (message to everyone, BatMan...) it only makes you look like a fool when you attack someone else for their loyalty to the company they run for. Poking fun or commenting on something you know to be fact is one thing. Outright personal attacks on someone because they are happy where they are is another.
Just like not judging a book by its cover, you cannot judge a driver's intelligence, skill level or usefulness to the industry by the name pasted on the door of the truck they are driving.Starchdoggy and AfterShock Thank this.
