Don't know anything about a forum for that, you might try turning it the other direction...probably won't feel a thing.
Thanks to those of you with a simple answer, I already pretty much knew the answer. Too bad it seems so many are falling for this scam, unfortunately I think it's more a sign of the times, desperate people doing desperate things. Of course there are those that just don't have the capacity to see the wolf in sheep clothing.
I'm 52 y/o and owned my own construction business for many years, I actually bailed on the business end just before the current economic decline began.Worked for another company doing their sales and estimating. It has ,unfortunately, become almost impossible to compete, with the companies who are working illegals and running under-insured.
I grew up on a farm and ranch here in West Texas and acquired a Class A back in the early '80s ,we used 18 wheelers for transporting grain. So I know I can drive a Truck and drive well, navigating turn rows and dirt roads taught me well.Everything I've ever done required long hours, hard work, and discipline, and enough common sense to not get myself killed or anyone else for that matter.
Once again, thanks for the replies, even you Flatbed, oh and btw don't turn that gun around,it won't end well. LOL.Like I said, I knew the answer before I asked it.....dumb question.......response,well you know the cliche. Anymore advice would be much appreciated.

There are plenty of decent co's that will train...as in anything in life..if you want, then you will have to go & get it.
You want to go to company that wants to train you properly so you can be successful as well as an asset to the company and not just a number & warm seat filler. -
Once again, thanks for the replies, even you Flatbed,
Maybe you should have included the INFO in your last post in the first 1 asking about CRE and a few of the replies might have been a bit different.

I'm shocked CRENGLAND made the bad company lit, lol.I get emails from them titled important employment message. They send an advertisement leasing from them,At first I opened it wondering what's this. Now I just delete it like I do politian ads, boring boring boring.

I don't have anything against CRE drivers I even attended their refresher course once,,, but the other day at a meat packing plant there was an england truck trying to back up next to me and I could have sworn Helen Keller was driving it lol.
I literally got out of my truck just in case -
Flatbed, that was actually a sincere thanks. My bad,I probably would have responded with something similar, had I read for a couple of hours instead of just asking.I learn real quick.Your post, created the desired effect, put the end to any question I had about CRE.I just found this site about 15 minutes before I asked the question, didn't know that was one of the Captain Obvious ones. A friend of mine and I are both looking into driving ,he's actually already gone to a school (JC) to get his CDL. Me, I'm in a little more precarious situation.I've had time to read into some of these "Bad Comp" threads.
Soooo, now that you know the "background" and I see we are both hardliners, and truth speakers, what would you recommend?
One guy on another thread suggested getting the book studying and taking the written part on your own then proceed from there eventually hiring on with local Dirt and Paving Companies,to get the experience.Personally I never want to drive onto another construction site,IMO most of those guys seem to run ragged equipment and pay horrible hourly wages. But,I'll do what it takes to get to the High Road.I don't have time for mistakes or lies. -
I'd recommend Prime, Knight, or Roehl for your first year, then, if you can afford it, go O/O. You sound business smart from a couple of your posts, so you might make it once you get your experience.
RedRaider Thanks this. -
I'm new to trucking. Actually I just got my cdl. The school I went to was really more of crash course to passing the dmv drive test. CR England offers a 6 week refresher course that seems appealing to me as I feel I can get some experience that was left out of the 20 hour course I completed.
I hear so much crap about CR Eng but it seems to be more directed at the lease program . If I stay away from the lease deal am I good? Or can someone recommend a better company with a similar program in socal? Any help is much appreciated. -
Like we have said over and over. No dude. Jesus why are people so dense. Stay away from England!
BigMuthaTrucka, LSAgentOZR and pattyj Thank this. -
Go easy on him, he is from SoCal. Read the post of mine above yours for people to go with.
