Heck...flipping burgers is better than England....frankly anything is better than England...if England was the last and only job left in this world...then I guess I'd be happy unemployed...

I surely wish my husband had done his research because he is stuck with them for 9 months, today makes 60 days since he left, all he does is sleep and drive. He just started phase 2! This is the first time he has ever been a "truck" driver. He sat in Utah for 5 days and had to wait on a truck, yeah he made a whopping 150 while he waited on them to assign him a truck to drive and a team mate. He says that once he drives 10,000 miles in phase 2 he will start getting paid more. I did the research and I tried to tell him, but he needed a job and went. I miss him and wish he would just quit, but I know we don't have the money to pay back the school either.

Best advice I can give is to start researching companies right now and be prepared to jump ship at the end of his obligation or sooner. If you're in GA, there's a hundred places he can go. Start the search on "Experienced Truckers Advice" thread.

Put your location on your profile so we know the hiring area you live in.

Do the school, and get out. Thats what i did. Had a good time while i was there. My trainer was with them for a long time i guess, we ran coast to coast, that was fun. 2 nd trainer was about 6 months out of school, and it was nothing but short runs, only did that for a week , went back to slc and school was over. SEE YA

OP will go to CRE, guaranteed. He's just nervous and wanted people to tell them "Nah, I actually had a great experience there. Everyone gave me hugs and smiles and I made so much money!"

Listen to people here OP. THERE ARE OTHER OPTIONS! Swift looks like a dream job next to CRE. Don't think you HAVE to have company paid training. Look into private schools, they can usually help you get loans, or your unemployment office can help. Even if you're set on paid training, there are much better options than CRE.
