I guess that's my point, there are no answers from anyone - only what you can find on your own right? In regards to the carriers anyway.
I did not mean to imply that experience or where you got your experience doesn't count for anything it certainly does.
As far as where I got my CDL?? Being nobody's business I will try to explain what I meant... Your CDL comes from your state of residence does it not? Administered and endorsed by your local DMV, does the acquisition of the license mean anything? Hence the analogy of the degree, if the degree comes from an accredited institution, it is a degree, simple as that. As an employer I can not specify that your degree must come from the following 3 schools only. Degrees are equal in the sense that they are coming from an accredited school. As long as your CDL is coming from an accredited institution (a state regulated DMV) it is a CDL correct?

Sure:
Watkins Shepard hires new drivers and exp drivers, you will not find one bad thing about them anywhere
Milli's transfer: hires student drivers and exp drivers, and you will not find one bad thing about them

To make the question more clear I am simply saying employers do not ask "Where did you get your CDL son?" do they? My response is "The state of Ohio, sir. After alot of study and preparation".
The fact that a sh^^& company paid for my initial SH%^% training, gave me a study booklet printed by the state themselves for me to study for the CDL and hooked me into a slavery like first year of work is not the real issue is it?
The issues of the interview questions would be yes I have my logged miles, yes I have my CDL and here is my DAC or is that not how it works? I am not claiming to know anything, that is why I am posting questions so that I can try to learn.
In summary can those of us who get a cracker jack box CDL, get into a decent career after we do our time? -
Yes it matters some carriers only hire graduates of certain schools, Crete and Conway truckload are two examples

I've never been asked about the origin of my CDL, even with a 7 year break in driving, and only 1 year of recent experience (3 years ago)... just for info.

Dude, as an employer I get to pick who I hire. Choosing someone based on qualifications is not against the law yet. Do you even realize how competitive the job market is for college grads? Of course it matters what school your degree is from! And because we're in a truck forum, it matters what experience, work history, training history, driving and safety record you can stick in your I-wanna-be-a-trucker portfolio along with the laminated BFD piece of paper from whatever state that is your actual CDL.4wheelJoshua Thanks this. -
That was all I was asking. Thank you.
Appreciate your help.

You can get there from here. But you're going to have to fight your way up. Hang in there, outlast the other NooB's and prove yourself. Then convince a GOOD company that you're an asset. Sorry, but that's the result of the "Driver Shortage". Big companies and Big Government invented it, we have to live in it. Survival of the strongest.BigJohn54 Thanks this.
