Why exactly do things say Made In China, anyways? They need to quit stamping things. It's annoying.

I'm quite fond of my Snap-On ratchets, and yeah, I've had to get them rebuilt, but I use the hell out of them. The guys using Craftsman haven't seen better results, but for cost effectiveness, I do like what I've seen from Carlysle. Some things, I won't pay tool truck prices for… I use impact sockets almost exclusively (save for my 1/4" set). When I bought my starter set, it came with 1/2" drive metric shallow, metric deep, and ASE deep impacts (the ASE shallows were chrome for whatever reason). A couple of my larger 1/2" sockets have since come from Mac, Snap-On, and Matco, but my ASE shallows are a mix of Craftsman and Tekton, my 3/8" impacts are Tekton, etc. All my ASE wrenches 1" and up and metrics over 19mm are Craftsman, Tactix, Eagle, Sunex, and Pittsburgh. All of my 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" drive ratchets are Snap-On, save for the set of three 100 tooth swivel head ratchets - those are Mac. For my 3/4" ratchet, I have an EZ-Red. I'm a bit wary of Snap-On's air tools, although I do have their 3/8" and 1/2" impacts, as well as their air hammer. So yeah, there's areas where I'll splurge, but I'm not gonna pay their prices for consumable things, or tools I don't use that often that I can justify the expense. E.G., air hammer bits… there's a surplus tools place down the road from where I work, and they have a bunch of Oldforge bits they sell for less than $5/each.

It is the law, not that it says China, the country of origin. It is a shame to see how sold out to China we are. Beef also has it if you look.
