True true. Good ol' single days. But wouldn't change it for the world.

It may be old fashioned but it is still the best way in my book . New is not always better . As for not working for mega company I gaurentee you that I will NEVER work for one karma or not !

The truly good jobs never make it to Craigslist or job monster or the newspaper even . The best jobs are found by word of mouth. That's why it's always a good idea to keep your record as clean as possible and have buddies everywhere.

Just because everyone says you have to have x-amount of this or that to get a good job the truth is every job depends on the man that hires you at the time .

If you put in the time and effort and get lucky you don't ever have to do any OTR to get a local job and you never HAVE to work for a mega company if you do not want to . There are thousands of trucking companies so don't feed me that old line that they are the only ones that will hire me .

For myself I would rather be screwed by a small outfit that I know the owner than a faceless mega company but that is just me .

The bottom line is if you want a good job you have to get off your butt and go for the job you want !!!!

Nope. I love coming home and having my little one run at me screaming "Daddy!". Makes the ######## that comes with the job worth it.

Yes craigslist does charge for ads in most major cities. That's how they make money. Try posting in NYC or SF and you'll see.

I' ve frequently posted job openings on CL but they always get flagged as spam and deleted. I offer bonafide jobs w/ above average pay, EZ qualification, and no experience needed - I guess it sounds too good to be true! The only markets that charge are Minn/St Paul and some of the larger metro areas.
