I think what people mean about clearing it up is that if CRST ran your background incorrectly, like they spelled your name wrong or got a digit wrong on your SSN, they show that you have a criminal background, even if you don't. Then they will place a black mark on your DAC that you were denied employment due to your criminal background. Then any other company running your DAC will assume that you have a criminal background, even if you don't. Once something is written down and in cyberspace, IT NEVER GOES AWAY.
Craziness!!!

I'd tell CRST what you found out from the police department, that you have a clean record. Then I'd tell them to stick their job up their arse, and that you're going to spread the word about their tactics, at the Rip Off report, Trucker Forum, and anyone else that'll listen.

Leannamarie thanks I asked the recruiter about what he found on my criminal record but he hung up. I called over and over then I emailed and he isn't answering me so it's almost impossible for me to do anything they all seem to be dirty I hope they don't ruin me man this stinks. I just wanted to get into the business to see the world and make a few dollars doing it. What do you suggest I do if they won't answer my calls or emails.

I don't know. A certified letter threatening legal action? How unprofessional to just hang up. But I would send a certified letter to them questioning their decision. Always best to leave a paper trail I would think.
-
I would recommend the certified letter and it may also be better to talk to an attorney. -
Bet it's from DAC (USIS). Got a buddy named Juan Hernandez who got blackballed by DAC because there is a registered sex offender in CA by the same name and same birthdate. You need to take proactive measures (as the others have said) and get to the bottom of the refusal of conditional offer of employment. Check your state department of labor to start with and you can get a copy of your DAC report without charge because you have been denied employment.
Good luck. -
You really need to get on top of this and find out what the deal is. A bad mark on a DAC report don't go away by itself and it can follow you around for a long time if you don't. Do what you have to do to get it straightened out and find another co. to break into trucking with. I worked for CRST in the 80's for awhile and I wouldn't recommend them to anybody,
Can't Resist Screwing Truckers is what CRST really stands for. -
You can get a copy of your DAC report. I am not allowed to post the info here for some reason, keeps rejecting the post. Also this information should be in the release forms you submitted to the company for employment. Google DAC report for address and such.
-
Dude you are better off NOT working for CRST. This should show you one reason why.
Like the rest said try to get to the bottom of this with DAC. There is a forum sponsor here called "DAC Fix". They maybe able to help you. -
The recruiter prolly has no clue at all--its safety that has the final word. You need to call the safety dept and find out why it was denied. The recruiter just prolly told you that just to give an excuse. Call the Safety Dept--they will tell you why it was denied!
