4200 mile average per week, 62 mph truck...e-logs... ran as hard as it would run...which wasn't very hard.

Unfocused? Sir, you know nothing about me, and one of the most focused and deliberate people there are. Also, I didn't go there to "hang out" with friends, I went because they seemed to be doing well and recommended it. Ends up, the guy sucks at math and they weren't making NEARLY what he thought they were..

I paid $220 a week for workers comp on my wife. Figure in all the other insurances and costs, and no I didn't opt for their accounting or tax services.. again, I've posted settlements here before and don't mind... we netted 18 cpm TOGETHER.. doing the math at the end of the whole gig, it all comes out in the wash.

109,000 miles, and we took home a total of $19,690. Do your own math. On top of that, for what should have been $400-500 in maintenance at the end of the lease, I was left with exactly ZERO - perfectly calculated - of the $5,400 I had in maintenance reserve.

ok i understand ,,, and i to opted out of the tax services and i also did not take the insurance because it was too expensive for what was offered,, 4200 miles a week and averageing 18 cpm is not bad ,,, but 4200 as a team i would not have accepted,,, i fired my first dm after i gave him a chance to see me run ,,, its possable to run 3800 as a solo driver with elogs,,, granted its not every week but thats why i got in the habbit of looking the profitability befor sending the mac 22,,,, i have no problem turning down a load and sitting rather than working for free,,,,can i ask.. did you get on with a good company now? still running a team? more profitable? why were you getting only 4200 miles as a team? were you on the cap or the rebate? im trying to look at the long term goal of owning the truck ,,,, i will be profitable but i wont see the money that i want until july,, thats when i go to the purchase enfd of the lease and 1 1/2 years from then the truck will be mine if all works out,,,, i wish you luck in what ever your doing but i would never have accepted 4200 miles in a week ,,, there are production managers to light a fuse under the dms butts if your not getting the miles,,, was the 18 cpm after the inurance and comp?

I was on a dedicated gig with PODS for 5 1/2 of the 6 months I was there. That's where the 4200 came from...BUT at the time (early 2009), I looked at numbers for teams and most were only doing 3800-4000 at the time.

I've worked for 2 companies since, and went back to expert witness work as of a month ago.

There's only a few dedicated gigs that have killer miles, from what I understand - and CRE was lowering the pay for dedicated drivers as we were leavin, whether you were company or lease.

The secret to a successful lease option with C.R. England is to run illegal drugs from Mexico into the United States?
    Hmmmmmmmmmm
    Interesting.

Don't current laws dictate that any vehicle or dwelling used to transport and/or store illegal drugs is to be confiscated and becomes the property of the law enforcement agency that makes the arrest?

    If so, ...............

The sons-0-Chester would forfeit one of their lease trucks and a trailer with load, if any, as a result. I wonder, would Chester's sons then try to collect from an inmate serving time for drug runnin' or, just deduct the loss from their taxes as an un-collectible debt?
Then there's the suspicion that the practice of runnin' illegal drugs might be wide spread among the other lease operators, and the company (C.R. England) gets investigated for illegal activities, and whether or not Chester's sons were aware of their lease operators secret source of untaxed illegal income.
Next visit will be from agents of the I.R.S.

    Sweet dreams and flying machines,
    in pieces on the ground.

I'm thinkin' that thousands of former C.R.E. drivers wouldn't hesitate to provide testimony as to the good character and intentions as well as the highly ethical business practices that the sons-0-Chester strictly adhere to.
    HaiL!
All one has to do is look at the number of success stories from those who made it through the mine field of failure in one piece by following C.R.E.'s instructions and advice of runnin' hard behind those who are only concerned with surviving the deductions while payin' the bills instead of watchin' what's comin'.

    B O O M !
    :smt073

    Another one bites the dust.
Disguised as bovine excrement, another land mine is driven over and detonated.
    A moment of silence. ------

    Blessed be th
ose who go before us, --
For they showeth us the way to go --

Through fields of soil recently turned --
Become the graves of those so brave --
To volunteer for a mission considered impossible --
That only a few will manage to survive.

    Oh well, .......

    It's not like they're irreplaceable.
Plenty more where they came from.

I gotta say, Bazerk Wizz Bang, ordinarily I find your posts to be amusing, usually entertaining, but often inaccurate. Then there are those that could be considered misleading and/or downright bad advice.

If I'm reading your recent post correctly, it seems you're suggesting that, "Just food for thought, if you want to make it and have nice things you got to take a few risk", adding that's, "how a lot of lease operators make it."
Quite interesting, and possibly an answer to one of my questions.
    But I wonder, ........................

If those engaged in drug runnin' activities will be pleased to know that you've revealed their secret to makin' it, --- to countless thousands of readers who may, or may not, have the authority to investigate the matter further.

Additionally, should you be met by C.R.E.'s armed guards sent to usher you to offices behind the metal detector, stand firm. Offer 'em a piece of the action, but only if they set up a dedicated account. How could they refuse?
Then again, they might want to
tell you in person that you're fired, and ordered to leave the premises with the company armed guards, ..... into the custody of the F.B.I., also, I assume, armed.
'Bout then would be a good time to remain silent.
'Cause what'cha do say can be held against you
    in a court of law.
    But HaiL!

They'd already have it all in writing. :evil3:

On the bright side though, how bad can federal prison be
    compared to what'cha experienced while a L/O at C.R.E.?
You'd probably meet other former C.R.E. L/O's there with a lot in common. They're there 'cause you sang when you shouldn't sing. Wouldn't it be cool if y'all got to share the same cell?
    Y'all could harmonize.
    :smt034

Just imagine if your information led to the downfall of
C.R. England! You'd be a hee-row, hereafter known for takin'
    risks.
Then Letterman, Leno, book deals, perhaps a starrin' role in a movie. All made possible by your involvement with C.R.E.
That would entitle you to come back here to tell all the nay-sayers
    I Told Y'all It's Possible To Make It At C.R.E. :smt047:smt045
    :laughing-guffaw:

OK, I'll bite - how does a CRE driver, with 13 bucks in his pocket, rent a car, go into Mexico, buy drugs, drive back... and refill the fuel tank on the rental car, when they have no money?

I was at the Laredo terminal many times, and never heard of anyone doing daytrips into Mexico. I actually wish they would, someone gets busted, and the whole outfit gets shut down...THAT is what CRE deserves.

If you dont follow England's bussiness model for success, you will fail fail 90% of the time. Lease, train, drive... If you have a problem doing any of thlse three thing, you should just hang it up. Last year as a trainer, I brought home $62,358. That after, paying for fuel, maintance, students, insurance, etc... I'm on course this year to net over $90,000. I'm married with three kids and I go home for 5 days for every thirty I do out on the road. If you come here with your own master plan ie. some 1989 I used to be a O/O crap you'll fail. It's a new game out here! Just got to be smarter than the average bear...
