I'm not sure getting a CDL a week and a half quicker is worth:
IMO this is why companies like CRE will continue to have fresh meat to grind. People view it as the quickest way to get a CDL as opposed to the best way to get a CDL. The need for instant gratification can definitely impair judgement.
- The potential hit on your DAC report the company can give you if you jump ship and they don't like it. Even if the black mark isn't accurate, it seems like a big hassle to fix in the name of a couple of weeks.
- The fact you are on the hook for inflated training costs if you don't work for them the required amount of time. It seems to me that scumbags or not, if you signed a contract you are on the hook to pay the $$. A week and half hardly seems worth screwing up your credit over.
- If your intention was to use them to get your CDL and you knew you were going to jet after getting it, you have now lowered yourself to their level. By all accounts CRE is a cesspool that should be avoided at all costs, but my own personal integrity is worth more to me than getting my CDL under false pretenses.
