the "bigger" units are generally "hard-wired" into the charging system. some can still be plugged into the cigarette lighter as well. yes, it is a lot of switching, but then you won't be switching trucks all that often either.......

Most truck stops have laundry facilities, and as for showers you can get free ones if you get the truckstops drivers reward card (its free) and everytime you get fuel it gives you a shower credit on your card. PLUS points that can be used like cash at the truckstop to buy stuff...hubby got his coffee maker that way, all he paid was the tax... IF you have to pay for a shower for some reason, they are more expensive if you have to use their towels, so carry your own...and honestly at least you know where your towels have been.:toothy4:

Can someone tell me how to get my 'recliner' into my truck? Is there a "12-volt' recliner equivalent?!

i'm going with P.A.M. transport from what i understand there is no "slip-seat" involved (you drive the same truck and only you)

each company's time off schedule is different. so, we can not say "yes" to that particular question. LISTEN to what the recruiter's tell you, and ask questions.........

then, after you LISTENED to the recruiters, throw that trashy talk out the window...........your time off is dependant on the travel lanes, and distances you are from your home. your time off could be in Ontario, Canada, or Ontario, California.....................or, at your house.............

These new trucks today sure have come a long way from the time when my dad bought his first new truck, a sleeper wasn't even an option, after a year of sleeping on a board between the seats he finally had a sleeper made, and it was about the size of a coffin

Nowdays trucks have nice large stand-up sleepers. You can get all kinds of fridges, coolers, TV's, ovens and kettles that plug into you lighter, with an inverter you can plug in all kinds of things like a microwave. I would really recomend the inverter.

Most truck stops charge 7-9 dollars for a shower if you don't buy fuel, like luvmyhubby said the bigger ones have reward cards you can use for showers and merchandise, just ask the fuel dest attendent
