"Creep mode"? o_O By golly, it's why I hang around, you have got to be kidding. While I applaud the initiative to stick it to the man( or woman), whatever happened to just haul the load, jeez. This only exemplifies how different a job it has become.

I probably would have just driven next door and let the elog switch to driving like normal. That 3 minutes of extra drive time isn't going to make or break me. But that’s just me.

I agree though that it's a pretty dumb thing for safety to get on you about.

Lmao, I worked with a guy one time who attempted to creep a truck 20 miles down the emergency lane on the interstate at <5 mph.

Worst one I ever knew of. He didn't even get written up, cops didn't even mess with him going through downtown Spokane on I-90 in the middle of the day.

Technically, the log department is correct.

What they, meaning the company and its representatives, are doing is recording everything against you they see. Then, when they need a reason to terminate you, they break out this list of infractions, which you won’t even remember, and throw it in your face. At that point, you’re done, without any reasonable explanations as to why you did what you did, since you won’t even remember them. My employer does this exact thing. I’m at a point in my life and career, with my last evaluation, I told them I don’t care about what their system says and I don’t care what they think. If they have a problem, fire me. I got no response other than told to have a good day. My viewpoint is I’m a decades-long truck driver, generating the revenue that sustains their existence. Leave me alone to keep generating revenue. YMMV.

    My opinion?

Don't do it again unless ... I'll explain in a bit.

See the problem is this, if the company is "next door" and you have to go on a public street, then they will ding you for it and should.

As Kyle G said, use on duty/driving next time, it cost you a few minutes and you won't have the issue.

Now if you are in the same parking lot, just move it slowly. It is NOT on a public street, which matters a lot.

Or, “Yard Move”. I use it everyday and it counts toward one’s 30min break. Unfortunately, not every carrier honors this duty option.

I'm all about some creep mode. I never get fussed at for creeping. Why waste time on your 70 if you don't have to? Don't worry about it man. If they fire you over it, just go to a less anal company.

Next time, don't accept a 2100 delivery if you started your day at 0400. I know I'll probably catch heat for saying this, but the split sleeper birth is an EXCEPTION, and it's there FOR YOU. It's not a tool for your company to plan loads around.

If anyone tries to make you use it when you don't want to, politely say okay, drive however long you would have anyway, then find parking and message dispatch that you are tired/fatigued and cannot drive any further. Let them reschedule the delivery while you take your break. If they don't like it, start looking for a new employer.

Yeah minus the starting and ending GPS coordinates not matching when you audit the log, as he said he was parked at a different location than the customer. Or you know the whole not advancing a load on PC because it's illegal. A lawyer is going to eat you alive one day doing #### like that.

Pc'ing at a shipper and receiver? Not even close to legal. Showing a bunch of pc time on your logs is the quickest way to get a log violation at an inspection
