I agree. I have a tremendous respect and appreciation for what CPAP treatment can do (and what it has done and continues to do for me since October, 2007). But I have ZERO respect and/or tolerance and immeasurable contempt for this kind of money-grab.

I'd quit as well. This absolutely makes my blood boil.

I told them flat-out when I hired on I wasn't participating in their program. They could either accept what I had been doing (a one-year card after presenting proof of compliance via printout) or I'd go somewhere else. I've been here two years now, and haven't heard of any requirement for anyone who brought a machine at the time of hire.

Should they demand this of me, I'll be gone very, very quickly....no questions asked.

Congrats 48Packard on the new addition. There are plenty of retired drivers on this board with no connection to Crete. Crete really could benefit from a neutral perspective. You could sort through the posts on TTR and development a 20/20 snap shot of what needs to be done to halt or at least slow the exodus. Personally, I think the top could care less.

You know the sad part? It wouldn't take that much! When you compare Crete to other freight-hauling companies in the same vein, they really don't have to do that much to make things pretty danged good. But I agree with the lack of vision at the top.

Strange run of luck here lately. I was in Houston a few days away from being due for hometime and wound up with a 1500 mile run to the SLC yard backed up by a 800+ run direct from the yard to a forwarder in San Diego. I actually managed to get home on time. Straight off of hometime I get dispatched on a 1500 mile run to Amarillo... only to find out when i get to the shipper in Pomona and scale it the load is over gross and there's no one to rework it until Monday AM (this is on a Saturday). I still wind up with a 1100-ish load to Portland, pick it up and find out the next day that he planners screwed up and he load isn't due to deliver for a week. Ok, let's ditch this one at the drop yard in Stockton. Finally I manage to get a good trip and keep it... Oakland, CA to LaVergne, TN 2300 miles + the empty miles to Oakland. Just dropped it in TN... Now I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I hear they're looking for someone to run OH/PA/OH/PA/OH/PA since one of their drivers that had been stuck on that scenario basically told them to stick it. Little short stocky fella that posts here on TTR....goes by the name of a long-defunct auto brand.....

Funny you mention that... Just got my next 2 preplans as soon as I made that post. LaVergne TN to Delaware OH then Newark OH to Lancaster PA. Looks like I don't have a choice anyway since some jackwagon in Lincoln ordered the new license plate for my (PHX based) truck and had them sent to New Kingstown. Makes sense to me...

Delivered my load at 13:00 in San Antonio, TX and then got a load picking up in Eagle Pass, TX in the morning that I will T-call in Wilmer, TX sometime tomorrow evening. Tonight I’m camping out at what used to be Mr. Cartender’s Exxon, but now is in the process of being rebuilt. I don’t know what happened, but if I remember correctly this used to be a pretty decent place. Anyway, Mr. Cartender’s Shell across the street wants $10 to park for the night and I’m not paying it. There’s another Crete truck parked over here too. By the way, Mr Cartender owns three out of the four truck stops over here in Eagle Pass, so I guess that’s why he can get away with charging for parking.

not unless it's been sold. It's a privately owned company based out of KS and a former military veteran was the one who started it and is still it's CEO and President. They are geared towards the trucking industry as far as medical requirements and compliance. In fact they just signed a partnership deal with Covidian(which is one of the biggest CDL physical provider clinics in the nation)
