Cali weather is weird. i was checking on Frazier Park (Lebec- Flying J) just before going up the Grapevine and it's going to be around 89* for a high. But 30 miles south in Castaic at the Pilot it's going to be 102 :biggrin_2552:. So if I don't go into the cons (where it's supposed to be 102* also) I guess I will whoa up at Lebec.

BTW I deliver in Santa Fe Springs which is just off the five south of downtown L-A. Coming from the north would you stay on I-5 through town or take the 405 around?

I hate California! Those darn mountains are pretty and all but man do they slow things down!

It's always 10-20 degrees cooler up there at the J. Makes sense since it's at the top of the northern portion of the grapevine. What's great is when it's 55 degrees at Wheeler Ridge, 30 degrees with heavy snow up top in Frazier Park and almost 70 by the time you hit the 210/5 interchange.

Anyways, I'd suggest staying on 5 if you're trying to get to Santa Fe Springs from the north. 405 is (literally) the busiest freeway in the country and while 5 thru central LA is no picnic 405 is a permanent cluster ####.

I'm sitting at my fuel solution in Dunnigan for the night. I'm thinking a super early start and whiz through Sacramento and hopefully hit LA before rush hour starts. The cons done said I could camp out in their superwide driveway. I'm first appt. on Friday for them so he said it will be OK. If not I will stay at the J and do another early start and beat the LA traffic it's just what traffic there will be at that hour will be going the same way as me. I know it's better to camp at the cons so my day won't start so early. I just hope the cruise director heads this ship eastward. I don't know if I can take another northbound I-5 trip.

I always thought that rush hour in LA started at 0001 and ended at 2359.

I'm glad I never have to deal with traffic in any city in Cali. Can't think of 1 thing I miss about that communist commonwealth.

[TD]Hunt Transportation releases a new Inverter Incentive
    Posted: 14 May 2014 12:39 PM PDT
Now through June 1, 2014, new drivers to join the Hunt family will be offered a never-before-seated truck with a 1,500 Watt Inverter*. This incentive is in addition to the 2 cent pay increase that took effect as of April 1, 2014. New drivers can expect a starting pay of 42¢-46¢ per mile and a full benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, 401K, and a profit sharing program.
“We know there is a growing demand for the comfort and health benefits inverters provide. By offering this incentive to new drivers, we have the opportunity to introduce talented and professional drivers to our family while simultaneously providing them the tools they need to succeed,” said Mark Swanson, President of Hunt Transportation.

That's good that Swanson is in charge of Hunt now. I hated to see him go to FCC, but ATSB is a good tax service. (Swanson used to do my taxes.)

It's odd they're that hard up for drivers.

So what about the existing drivers? No inverter for them?
