Probably Lewiston for some paper heading to southern Cali. Be sure to get an over length (53' is considered over length on the back roads) permit if you're ran the back roads to Neveda. There's a chicken coupe just across the river from the plant. There's also a truck stop with a scale before the weigh station.

Also there's a Pilot in Ontario, OR that has a darn good mexican food place behind it. I (well used to) get the Carne Adobada!

I appreciate it. 15 years of this stuff, I've never run OR or WA, and just 15 in NV. I'll be on the lookout for such routing.

Recruiting is still calling and leaving messages. They finally upped the offer from .41 cpm to .43 cpm. I'm currently enjoying my new company so I continue to pass. After the lecture I laid on a recruiter last week I figured the calls would stop. I guess not. I pretty much laid everything in this thread on him including how Tonn doesn't remotely grasp the importance of driver relations that Mr. Ackley fully understood. It was a lengthy lecture. I actually felt bad for the guy.

When I was a Creten...there use to be a door and cabinet plant west of Boise, they also sent me into the nether regions of 2-lane Oregon to pick up diatamasious earth...i.e. dirt, which they use for paint pigmentation and the brown color of 3M packing tape(that went all the way back to the Carolinas). We also use to pick up office furniture out of Post Falls, but that is a ways from Boise up the permitted back roads.. Thru Hells Canyon Rec area is the route you would take. It is a beautiful drive if you get to take it in the daylight

Recruiting has left several messages on my home machine. I mean to call them back and insist they remove my name from their re-hire list. I guess I wasn't nasty and mean enough when I was there or else they are REALLY desperate for drivers for them to call me.

Well after getting the week off to a slow start, when I deliver my load in Scottsboro, Alabama early tomorrow afternoon I will eke out 3004 miles for the week. Not bad considering that I had to sit for half a day twice last week. Not to mention that I just got a pleasant surprise when I checked my pay for last week a few minutes ago, as I ended up with 2480 miles, which is quite a bit better than the 2100 plus miles I thought I had ended up with. Plus, I got paid for 3 shags.

Well, that figures. If you saw a real tall guy with a goatee, pony tail, with a white/yellow/orange/brown striped short-sleeve button-down in jeans with a CCC hat on, that was me, and the tractor with the big-### Monkey Made antenna with the little white firestik pointing down is mine.

I've been down that road. I would hate to do it in the dark :biggrin_2551:
